Adjustable Parameters settings? i2

Post by jamoka3 »

*We need a "general technical discussion / questions section" for these types of questions...

Running the "Diablo Sport Tune" w/ 93 octane from the i2 on my 2005 Chevy Silverado. I did get noticeable throttle feel and better acceleration.
Is there a set "Adjustable Parameter" list for increasing things like shift points and other points? I want the truck to shift a little firmer...but not sure how far to go?
With the 4L60E transmission, what are you guys running to achieve this?
Are there any other points i can decrease/ increase for better performance and feel?

There should be a host of adjustments available to alter your shift points on that vehicle in the Adjustable Parameters menu.

When you are loading the tune, select Advanced tune, then the tune you would like to load, even if it is the same one again. It will then ask "Do you want to adjust parameters?". Click the green check for yes, and it will open the menu to make your adjustments. When that is done, back out of the menu and load a tune to apply them.

Thanks.
I do understand how to update the modified tune.
I was wondering what settings people are running so i have a starting point for initial adjustments.

The problem for me is what do I adjust and how much? I can see how easy they are to change, but with no point of reference, what do you do? Lets say you want to change the 87 octane parameters on the transmission to the original stock transmission configuration. The stock configuration has a much better feeling 1-2 shift. The new tune makes the shift very very sluggish, almost to sliding into 2nd. What are they? I was not able to see the stock parameters, only the 87 octane parameters. If torque management is 33 mph Normal,. What is the adjustment? Up or down? If upshift rpm is normal at 5600, which way is better? If shift time 1-2 is 0 sec, should it beep or down? If normal WOT is 0 psi, how much should you increase it? Which parameters do I need to adjust, and how much? And on and on and on. Granted, I don't want extreme performance, just economy/performance with a less sluggish shift pattern.

Sorry for the rant! :punisher:

On mine, after selecting the engine tune it then asks about the tranny tune. Do you not see firm shift and hard shift options at this point? If you do, you may not need to adjust anything manually.

1999-2006 vehicles do not have a separate TCM/tranny module or separate tranny tune.. they have a single pcm that controls both engine and tranny.. so no separate tcm/tranny tune for them to select.. changes are made in the single main pcm tune.
