t1000 question

ok so i have this t 1000 tuner and i recently had it on my 07 cts v and well yesterday i put bak my orignal file to car and tried it on a 2008 f150 and it worked, why is that i thought these tuners are supposed to stay to one car, how do u know when its fully married to a car cause it actually allowed me to use it on that ford and install a tune
