Dead battery and lost diablosport tune.

Post by cooky_d »

Hello,
I have a 2001 camaro tuned with the predator (U7198).
There is three week I changed battery because the old battery had died (the car stayed without battery during 15 days).
Since when I used my car, I had the feeling that the engine missed power.
I thus connected the predator and I have re-tuned the ECM, the predator then saved the stock parameters and installed the Diablosport tune.
I found the power which missed.
I do not understand why the predator saved the stock tune knowing that the ECM was already tuned (with diablosport tune)?
It would mean that the ECM had lost the diablosport tune and return to stock (what would explain the lack of power).
And when the diablosport tune is installed onto ECM, can i re – install it twice?
Is there somebody who would have a similar experience or an explanation?
Thanks a lot.

This is simply not possible.
If the Diablotune was on the car when the battery died, it would still be there after putting in a new battery.
If you hooked up the Predator, and it read a new copy of the backup, then there was no tune on the PCM when the Predator died.

OK, it is indeed of what I thought because I am an electronics engineer but I wanted to have confirmation.
What I does not understand, how Diablotune uninstalled, I bought the predator 6 months ago, I installed Diablotune and have never uninstalled it since.
Thanks

yeah Mike, this dude's a grammer professor..... i mean electronics engineer......

the tune doesnt leave your PCM until you reload your stock tune, no matter how long your battery was down or out of the car. just plug it back in and install the performance tune, and all the power will come back.....

Should be no need to reinstall the tune, as it has not gone anywhere...
