I've had a number of issues with the i2 and worked with support via phone, email and here on the forum. I recently found out that my custom Hemi Fever tune was not actually flashed even though the unit reported it flashed successfully. I kept having a backpressure error code pop up that was supposed to be tuned out. When checking the tune directory of my i2, only the backup was listed there. Hemi fever said there was supposed to be a file with the name "tunelastwritten" in the filename there. However, it wasn't anytime I tried to write the custom tune.
My workaround was to go through the easytune menu and flash the stock 93 tune. At that point, there was a tunelastwritten file in that directory. I then proceeded to flash my custom tune and the tunelastwritten changed filesize, so I knew it went through that time. I emailed the file to my tuner and he verified that was from his tune. I reported this to email support, so they are aware of the issue and my workaround.
My suggestion to all i2 users doing a custom tune is to verify the tunelastwritten file is in your tune folder when plugged into your computer. You will look in a subfolder that is named after your vehicle's VIN. Otherwise, you are running the stock tune.
Did your custom tune really flash? Better check to make sure

No problems here. Got my custom tune from Hemifever in the folder with my VIN.
Re: Did your custom tune really flash? Better check to make
I'm having the same issue what's the fix other that the workaround ? if there is one . I had a last tune written in my vin folder from doing a stock tune but when I did my custom tune the file size stayed the same and my custom tune is 4 KB smaller than the stock one but it still shows the same size as the original last tune written.
Re: Did your custom tune really flash? Better check to make
this makes me nervous, was intending to purchase this new unit but all the complaints and no start issues make me wonder if the return on investment/gains are worth the headaches. gotta be an easier way, my other programmer for another vehicle is still working after 6+ years

As I wrote before I do not have this problem.
I also run the latest updates in my I2.
I went through my instructions from Sean from Hemifever and may be there is something that can be done wrong:
First you need to download the tune file to your computer and then copy it. You must insert the tune into the parent folder I2 and not into the tunes folder.
Sean made some changes to my tune (throttle boost) and I always could feel the difference at once. So it worked out for me several times.

I reloaded the custom tunes I have about 4 times back to back and now it works perfectly every timei don't know why but it does .
Re: Did your custom tune really flash? Better check to make
I purchased both a Trinity and an i2.
I've programmed the same CAI 91 tune with custom fan settings for my 180 Tstat. I am not certain why, but the Trinity program feels a lot more peppy. Just barely tap the pedal to chirp the tires.
With the i2 upgraded with latest firmware, I loaded on my car and it stalled. Thankfully my i2 went into recovery mode and restored the factory flash, then I went in and successfully applied the CAI 91 tune with same custom fan settings.
Aren't these supposed to have the same parameters in the canned tunes?
I'm not certain if I want to keep the i2 at this point. it's certainly less expensive, but it appears to be not quite ready for primetime(?).

You mean the tool failed to program? Because the tunes are the same.robsrkt wrote:With the i2 upgraded with latest firmware, I loaded on my car and it stalled.
