I'm afraid to use it!

Post by Jhamil1 »

Hi,

I just ordered the I2 for my '14 5.7 Charger. It didn't arrive yet, but after reading all these horror stories I'm thinking of not even opening the box and just return it for a refund. Is it really as bad as it appears from all these posts???

It would be hard to guess how bad it is without knowing the total number of units sold. The part that alarms me are the posts that seem to go unanswered, although they may have been resolved through other methods. I personally have another vehicle so was willing to take the risk. My experience went as follows, first connected to pc and found no updates then connected to vehicle and it required a calbration update from pc. Hooked tuner back to vehicle it updated pcm then backed up stock tune, crashed when instilling custom tune, booted to recovery mode and reinstalled stock tune. I crossed my fingers and tried a custom tune again and it applied correctly.

Jhamil1, I also ordered the same unit for my 2013 SXT challenger, Should be here Friday. Sean at Hemifever said that Diablosport had the crashing issue fixed once you do the update. I'm also planning on using a custom tune from Sean after i do the I2010 Install. I too am worried but no Guts no Glory. Happy New Year.... 8)

Yes you are correct. Normally people end up emailing and/or calling. Some go through their dealer and we deal with it that way. Unfortunately with the immense amount of tools we sell and the fact that people rarely if ever go through the trouble of starting a thread just to say thanks or it worked all you're going to see here is issues. Which is what the forum is for technically.

We don't ever leave anyone high and dry. If you have an issue for whatever reason we'll get you going again without fail. Of course we hope that no one has issues ever, but afterall these are electronics and sometimes things happen.

don't be afraid these guys seem to try to fix things fairly quick .from what I've been reading they seem to stay on top of it but most of the time its user error and if you keep checking and don't give up most of the time you can figure this out on your own . I'm a ROM developer for android phones on the side and I go through this same stuff all the time sometimes there are bugs and sometimes not but if you read on here you will see these guys are trying hard to fix and support this stuff all the while trying to work too. you guys are doing great .I will continue to buy disblosport products . it is kinda dumb you have to call holley about anything and that diablodport isn't treated as a separate company. I'm just saying

Thanks all. The only concern I have is if it hangs up and I can't start the car as I don't have a spare. I'm sure they have good support. Just worried if it crashes and I can't get to work.

As a '15 charger owner.. I vote for the quality of the device, smooth and super easy to use if you aren't getting to the advanced tuning mode..
I've never had any kind of issues re-flashing, starting the car, replacing the pcm, and such..

But, the device did not deliver what is promised, against the purpose of the reason I bought it, and I feel I wasted 1k$.

So, it's your decision to make.

Yeah I'm sure if there was a problem he'd be all over the forums. That's what 90% of the time we use the forums for is to bitch about something not working lol!

Actually I started a new thread that said it worked perfectly. I said in the thread that it was only fair to report a positive result since there were quite a few negative ones. Loaded without a hitch.
