Trinity freezing at black screen on boot up

Post by Stickman400 »

Like the title says. I updated my Trinity to the latest firmware (1r13h) and when I hooked it back up to the truck and re-selected my vehicle (2012 2500 Ram w/5.7) it just re-boots and freezes at a black screen. If I force it to re-boot by holding the left directional button and re-select my vehicle it just does the same thing.

I did work out a kind of bug where I did get it to fully boot somewhat normally (still looked/felt buggy) by force selecting the vehicle a few times and then letting it boot normally. So when I did that I went to load a tune, it backed up my original, but then after it did that it said the save was corrupt and it wouldn't load a tune. And now when I try to hook it up to the computer to update it or do anything with it, it says it has the original save still on it and it won't do anything until I un-marry it. Well I don't want to try and load the corrupt original tune back to the truck, on top of the fact that the truck still has the factory tune and nothing even got accomplished when I did try to load a tune.

So I don't know what to do here, I tried sending an email 2 or 3 weeks ago and haven't heard back so I figured I would try this. It seems like I either need it force updated again to wipe it clean or just swapped out for a new one. I'm fairly certain my truck is still on the factory tune because the shifts are buttery smooth unlike when I have a tune loaded. Would a new one know if it was the factory tune when I hooked it up? I'll also attach a picture of the messed up starting screen that it showed me when I did get it to boot up 3 or 4 times, that's why I said it looked/felt buggy still.

I would use the crom file I have attached here. The 1r13h file has bugs that need to be worked out. The 1r13f file was good with no known bugs.

I would restore the original back up, the use the file I posted then try re-tuning your truck. You should be good to go after that.

Doesn't give one a whole lot of faith in the code when you see spelling errors like that on the first screen. :)

So you don't think the current backup is bad? Even though it says it's corrupt? Also, since I can't boot it normally, do you just want to me to try my trick over and over to restore the original? And hope and pray it doesn't mess up half way through the process? Any known sure fire ways to get it to boot up normally? I tried to get it to start up several times yesterday for about 20 minutes with no luck.
