need help with registration

Hi, I recently bought a used '12 Ram 1500 that had a Trinity T-1000 with it. I'm trying to update the tuner with latest firmware version and cal files for my truck. Do I need to spend the $$ to register the tuner under my name even if it's still tied to the same vehicle or am I missing something?... it appears the tuner is trying to have me to reset it. Thanks!

you must restore the stock tune before you can update the tool.

There is no cost for registration...

OK, I'll play around with it again this evening. When I tried to register the tuner it told me it was already registered under a different name, so I assumed I'd have to spend the $179 to reset it so I could register it under my name... this is not the case? Thanks again!

if it's already registered, you can not register it again, and you do not need to.. it doesn't matter who it's registered to.. as long as it's registered, you can update it..

but to update the trinity, you first have to restore the original backup stock tune to the vehicle.

after you update it, then you can reinstall the preset tunes to the vehicle.

OK, thanks. I'll try it again this evening. I might have been trying to go down the wrong path thinking I had to register it under my name first and force the reset. It was wanting me to call in with a code and get a password and such. I'll dig around in the directions again and see if I can get it updated. Thanks!
