Well this is most definitely my fault for messing with my programmer when it told me it couldn't restore the original tune the first time. I persisted and now my truck is DEAD.
Here's my story:
I pull into the dealer parking lot preparing to have a few sales codes flashed to the BCM for tow mirrors. I tried to restore the stock tune but it wouldn't let me. It said:
Custom tune problem:
Crc mismatch tool
PCM:0x01b2f995
In custom (0xdd9e40b7)
Dsdl version: 2.2.2.11
Please use 'options' -> 'custom tune'
To load or erase the custom tune
I thought to myself, "they are flashing the "BCM" not "PCM" so it should be fine. I unplugged the trinity and let the dealer do their work. Codes flashed, no problem. Fast forward to Saturday morning...
Curiosity got the better of me. I got in my truck once again to try to upload the stock backup tune. I got the response stated above. I followed directions on deleting the custom tune and did just that.
I once again tried to restore the stock backup tune. It goes through the motions and says writing pcm. Key off, key on, everything looks fine then it says writing PCM failed.
Truck is dead. Airbag warning lights, brake system lights, truck goes crazy when the key is turned on but won't even try to start. There is also a clicking noise under the hood.
Not sure where in the sequence of events this happened, but I also got this message:
Invalid license (5) trinity is
Locked to another vehicle
However, when I go to look at the vin, it still says it in connected to my vin.
Now when I go to performance it just says trinity is married to a 2005-2015 Chrysler dodge jeep vehicle ETC...
Please help guys I tried to call all day today. Every time I got the message that there was an extensive wait time over an hour long and to call back later. Click.
I finally got through about 4:45 and it said 40 minute wait time. I was 5th in que. at 5:45 I was first in que. it's now almost 8:00 and I'm still first in que. idk why I'm still on the phone. Probably foolish of me to think someone is still there to answer but I can't help it. I'm lost. My baby is broke and I don't know what to do. I could only relate this experience to calling a deceased loved one's cell phone just to hear their voice on the other end. I'm waiting for the same comfort guys. Please help guys! Or at least find some humor in my sob story.
Happy tuning guys!

Re: Bricked 2014 Ram
holy shit....
I feel for you dude. NOT a good situation.
I bought an inTune not too long ago @ full retail price. It froze my computer and refused to update out of the box. I promptly returned it.
I now have a used Trinity that is buggy as hell. No response to help on the forums either. Previous owner tried to call in several times and gave up so he gave it to me for cheap for me to deal with.
IMHO - I get it, this shit is complicated... However if you realize your software has bugs, provide the technical support and a proper response time to customers who so heavily invested in your product. Here in Canada a Trinity is ~900$.
Not acceptable.

Re: Bricked 2014 Ram
I feel for all of you, i had a trinity and returned it to 4wheelparts cause of the fucked updates not just on dodges, but across the board. I went with HP Tuners with way better luck. You MIGHT get a response from tech dept. But be forwarned, they are going to tell you you 1 of of few things:
1-email tech support with your problem
2-call tech support with the unit powered up
3-fill out an RMA request AT and additional cost to YOU
4-send your tuner in cause its broke at a cost to YOU
This is what you can expect, i know cause i have gone through this shit, and just said fuck it. HP tuners is the way to go.

Well the truck is back up and running. I sent an email request and called yesterday as soon as they opened. A customer service tech emailed me telling me to call when I got to my truck. He stayed on the phone with me almost 2 hours until 7pm. Several trips back and forth to the computer and truck but we got it done. The guy I talked to was Daniel. He wouldn't let me send him a gift card for a steak dinner or anything but I was sure willing to!

Very glad to hear that you got your bugs worked out. Flashing a pcm can be touchy. I have a '12 Ram 1500 5.7L and sometimes (rarely but still) sometimes when I try to swap my tunes for example from the canned MPG Booster tune over to the canned 91 performance tune, after I've selected the tune and clicked install, the Trinity won't write anything, but instead will make me do the key cycle as if the tune were written, then on the last key ON cycle it will say "failed to.write vehicle" and the trinity will freeve. This has happened 3 times since I bought my trinity brand new from Hemifever, way back when tuning was first released for the 2012 Ram. Knock on wood, truck has started and I've been able to re do the tune swap after it has happened.TexasExpress wrote:Well the truck is back up and running. Make sure you have solid voltage at the battery before starting a flash.bgramling24 wrote:Very glad to hear that you got your bugs worked out. Flashing a pcm can be touchy.
