Playing with 2013 5.3 6spd silverado. Last night put in the Diablo 93 octane tune and hard shift. From what I understand It takes a little time for the computer to settle in but, should it take a while for the shift firmness to change also?
Might be a little better from 2nd to 3rd but 1st to 2nd is still mushy.
Reading around the net makes it sound like "hard shift" should rip your hands off the wheel and bark tires from 1st to 2nd.
silverado 5.3 6spd 93 octane "hard shift"?

Figured out this afternoon that you really have to get into it to get the shift results. In drive it shifted at about 4500 rpm and really threw it into 2nd hard.
Would like firmer shifts in my usual old fart driving style. May play with parameters later.

I had the same reaction. I found the standard hard shift program did not make the 1-2 shift really any better and only really changed the 2-3. Upping the shift pressure made a difference for me. You might try to up the part throttle and full throttle shift pressure to 5-8 over the standard program and see if you like that. There is still a huge difference between the 1-2 and 2-3, but I found it did get a little better. My biggest problem is that even after "learning", the shifts are still pretty slow. I wish they were quicker or that the throttle would stay open.

Put in 93 octane and firm shift this morning but it's the same feel at low rpm shifts.
What are the pressure settings for Firm and Hard shift TCM tunes compared to stock on the -20-+20 scale? In both tunes the adjustable parameters are at zero so I'm assuming i pick the most liked then tweak adjustable parameters within that TCM tune?
Trying to understand how the canned TCM hard and firm tunes are related to the adjustable pressure parameters.
Like Brad mentioned, probably go back to hard shift then add pressure to the part throttle parameters if they are related like I'm thinking.
