the converter def makes a big difference in taking off, but after that , TM still takes over whenever you shift at WOT....

my converter gets me out of the hole a lot quicker/harder. i also removed TM though.

The stock tranny is actually weaker than the converter....
I have smoked through 1 4L60 already, but my stock converter is fine and dandy...

The Ls1 cars all had 4L60s...no 65s. Lame.
I still run the stock converter right now...

oh, learn something new everyday. i am leaning towards the new 6l80e..... i think it would be worth swapping in mine, if the bolt pattern is the same. comes in the new escalades/denali's behind the 6.2l 405hp motor.

Yeah, me wants a 6L80 as well.
They do bolt up, but there is some programming required.
Our new GM guy has a patch to allow the use of the 6l80 in non stock applications, should have it ready soon.

THATS WHAT I READ, THAT THERE WASNT ANY WAY TO PROGRAM THE pcm FOR THE EXTRA GEARS IN THE 6L80, BUT SOON AS ITS A REASONABLE NON-DIFFICULT SWAP, I AM ALL ABOUT IT.

I would think the 6L80 is stronger than the 4L60.

Correct?
