First off, I thought to unlock the power of newer cars you had to get something like the i2 and then tell it more specific information on what you have to get the right tune for your car. Maybe I have the wrong impression?
For instance, I have a 2013 Challenger R/T 5.7 with a cat back system and cold air but am considering adding headers. The only choices I saw in the easy 91 Octane tune was for tire size and gear ratio and really that seemed too easy. I looked at the advanced tune and it's more of the same but adds in PCM (which I think you can also modify in the easy tune). No options for what I have or what I am looking to add.
It's confusing when you pick the tune too and choose between 91 and 93 octane and when you are in the 91 octane you see a diablo tune too which from my understanding really is the 93 octane tune since people might think that is another 91 octane tune. It also wasn't clear that after doing the first software update to the tuner before tuning the car that it would say car not found/supported and then after doing another tuner update that would be the point that the additional install we be put on the tuner - it didn't say anything like that during tuning, just that my car wasn't found/supported and I happened to get lucky and figure out what to do.
After that, I did read through the i2010 forum and saw a lot of horror stories about cars not running after tuning and other issues but didn't see anything for easier tuning with more options, maybe I missed it.
Right now, it kind of seems that I bought this just for the out of the box 91 octane tune. Is this really one-size fits all of this specific car or should there be more specific questions to get a better tune?
My car does run but the weather didn't cooperate today so I don't know how the tune is performing yet but I guess I had the wrong impression?
Install went OK but this isn't quite what I expected
Post here with any questions specific to the use of the i2 on Chrysler vehicles.
