Can I update my First Generation Intune to get the New 2016 Camaro SS Tune, or do I need the Intune2.

no.. there are no new updates or vehicle support for the older intune i1000.. no more updates for that tool, it's done...
you need an inTune i2 i2030 or a Trinity T1000 for any new vehicle support/updates...
