2014 Cruze 1.4T (New To Forum)

Post by Hot4speed »

Hello all

I'm just looking for some guidance as I am new to this forum.
I'm actually new to small engines entirely.

Coming from the Grand Prix 3800 SC engine and have no clue where to begin with my tiny Cruze 1.4T engine.

I'm looking to tune my PCM to get more performance as well as improve transmission timing

Seems to be a Deja-vu with tranny issues that 3800 are so notorious for. I figured I'd buy a newer smaller engine in hopes of ending all my tranny nightmares for good.
But it appears I chose yet another GM with an even weaker transmission. Some say it's a smarter transmission for better fuel economy.....I say, confused transmission that robs this already gutless engine of performance.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway, enough ranting.

I bought a 2014 Cruze 1.4T Automatic transmission. (I know I should have bought it stick) but she's loaded and in showroom condition and only 20,000k. So she's pretty easy on the eyes.

However I noticed quite immediate that the transmissions in these little Turbo bangers are a bit odd. Or should I say confused?! And not to mention high revers as well???? She's either reving too high
Or not enough. The power is there.....but just not being properly distributed.
Again...please correct me if I'm wrong. That's why I'm here. Educate me please.

Where do I start?

Can anyone help me out here?

Just get me started.

I'm looking for performance. But nothing over the top. Just minor tweaking to delete restrictions and get a bit more performance

Apologies if I've posted in the wrong place. Please let me know where to post in regards to this topic.

Thanks in advance

and there is no TCM/transmission tuning on those Cruze's.. only the ECM/engine can be tuned...

You need the i2030 or Trinity T-1000 tuner.
