P0158 Problem
Hey All,
06 Dodge Magnum R/T, Predator running 9r02. Installed 91CAI tune, upped the shift points and firmness. I turned off the rear O2 as per instructions but still got a P0158 the next day. I reset the code with my DashHawk and it hasn't come back yet but it seems to re-surface one a week.
Any ideas?

Re: P0158 Problem
Why did you disable the O2 sensors? Do you have high flow cats? I don't think you're supposed to disable them unless you have high-flows cats. Do you get check engine lights when they are left turned on?fordomatic69 wrote:Hey All,

With 9r02, you are supposed to turn off the Rear O2's to get rid of the P0158's from coming up, but they are still showing up every day now for me and I expect many more to start getting it because it is a known issue. RE: Re: P0158 Problem
It's getting even worse now. I clear the DTC's with my DashHawk and all is good the first time I drive the car anywhere but as soon as I shut it off and then start it agsain, the P0158 comes back abot 30 seconds later. WTF is happening?

RE: Re: P0158 Problem
Just asking, but did you ever run the 9r01 program version? I know the 01 and 02 versions are supposed to be the same, but I'm running the 01 programming and haven't had a P0158 code since installing it, and shutting my rear o2s down. This has been for several weeks now.

I have 9r01 downloaded but before I could load it, 9r02 became available, so I loaded it instead. Can I downgrade from 9r02 to 9r01 on the predator without it complaining?PerfRacer wrote:Just asking, but did you ever run the 9r01 program version? RE: Re: RE: Re: P0158 Problem
Yes, you can. Of course you know you need to reinstall the stock programming for the car, so that the 9r02 programming's in the Predator. Then, go to your computer and download 9r01 to your Predator, it will overwirte the 9r02 programming, and then install the 9r01 programming in the car. I'm sure you know all of this, but I figured I'd write it anyway just incase, and for those who maybe reading the thread...

I'll give her a shot tonight.... this P0158 problem is the one and only thing that is preventing me from being able to recommend the predator to my other LX buddies (considering I live about 20 minutes from where the LX's are assembled, there are lots of them around here). If we can nail down this little glitch, things will be awesome.

RE: Re: RE: Re: P0158 Problem
Yeah, I hear ya. I've been happy with the 9r01 programming's performance, as well as it's ability to remove those codes, especially since I do have hi-flow cats. With previous programming versions, the 02 codes would pop up quite frequently. You "should" be happy with the 9r01 programming. Now, if they can only do something about the "temp" code that pops up every now and then, because of the 180-stat, I'd be VERY happy. lol
Let us know how the 9r01 programming works out for you..

Will do. I have a 180 Tstat that I have been afraid to install because of the P0138 that DS is still working on. Hopefully they will get it all ironed out before the summer show off... er, driving season begins.

You mean P0128, correct?fordomatic69 wrote:Will do. I have a 180 Tstat that I have been afraid to install because of the P0138 that DS is still working on. Hopefully they will get it all ironed out before the summer show off... er, driving season begins.
We made some tunes for someone here last week, seems to have worked.
If so, it will be included in the next revision.
Thanks

I am taking my 06 MSRT8 in to Turbo Connection tomorrow for the dyno and tweeking in of what ever it needs. I do not have the 9r tune in it but I am mostly stock except for 3"Zoomers and CAI . Do I really need to updade my preditor first or leave it be for the time being?
I want to be sure I am optimizing the tune. RPM, Air/fuel, shift points, etc.
Most tune for the options and see my HP to the wheels.
Will I see 400? I had 378 hp 7 mos ago.
