EGR delete, U7146

Post by ZSPOT »

When putting my tune back in for spring time  , I was removing the O2 sensor readings for my OR H-pipe and had a thought about the EGR system. I still have all the egr components, but what happens if I turn this function off with the Predator? Does it just turn the signal off to the egr valve to not open? Or should I go through the trouble of removing the egr system b4 programming?

Thank you.

I would remove it entirely if you want it disabled. It will still be an interuption in airflow, and looks a lot better too. Explorers don't have EGRs but run the same plenum. You can get a blockoff plate from Ford for like $20. Easy, easy install.

What does the EGR delete do for you?

There really isn't much benefit to it, unless you get into big HP numbers. It will give a little less clutter by the plenum but that's about it.
