this is the same as the provided canned tune only with the points raised a bit.
They should have been at 6350, I'll check the log.

Logs do seem to verify that its shifting a little past 6200, not sure why but theres a lot of math to get these shift points changed, its not like some older stuff where you just type in '6350' and it uses that value :)

That kinda sounds like Johan who couldn't figure out why some things were behaving as well lol.

Is there a difference between the 2015 Charger Hellcat I have and the 2016/17 tested at Diablo? Seems like there could be some differences in years, hence why I ran into so much trouble.

My understanding is that most all ZF8 cals are pretty similar in behavior.

Update on my TCM tune by a CMR Tuner for my Hellcat.

Took the trans apart since it did not want to go into gear.

Found the clutches welded to the output shaft and drum. SMH

My tuner said he lowered the toque management and I come to find out torque management should always be at 100% or damage will occur.

The symptoms of the ZF 8HP90 before it did not want to go into gear after a TCM tuned WOT run on the streets is it would stay in gear after a 3rd gear shift. I had to pull over put it in park and turn ignition key off and on. It did it a handful of times until the last time it just stopped going into drive. I had reverse only.

Fair Warning do not let a CMR reduce or remove torque management. You will eventually fry your internals.

To be fair, this isnt a Diablo or even CMR thing, same will happen with a tune from the other guys if the same changes are made.

Sorry to hear that.
If you haven't already, check out SHR for a great trans upgrade.

Any ideas what went wrong?

Are you saying your trans. went bad after only one WOT pull on the street after you loaded the trans. tune?

No, Im saying the CMR revised the diablo TCM tune and reduced TQ management and removed the converter torque management.
After that, is when I started having it stay stuck on a gear until the last wot run on the streets, my A8 stopped going into gear and just had reverse. I must state that i had two weeks previously had a killer chiller installed and removed the heat exchangers and installed a trans cooler. I do not know which it was either the install of the killer chiller and not properly filling the trans fluid properly or the torque management?

Tough to say with someone who knows this stuff well to look at the internals.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the TCM update that raised my shift points. I'd like to get it raised fully to 6400 rpms. Are you able to do that for me? I'd be willing to pay for that adjustment. Reason I ask is that I reached out to other tuners, and they want to start from scratch (PCM/TCM). I don't need that, I like the TCM tune you gave me, just need it raised a little more to 6400 rpms. My PCM tunes by Johan works fine as is, they are already fuel adjusted to 6500 rpms.

Thanks!

Hi,

I attached the backup, the last tune written, and your last TCM tune (6350 file name). The last tune written file will reflect the canned diablosport TCM performance tune, as I only run the modified TCM file occasionally and run the canned tcm performance tune for daily driving.

So right now the 6350 TCM tune file only actually raises it 6200 rpms, would like to shift another 200 rpms at 6400.

Thanks!
