Hi Diablo techs. Please answer me this re: my 06 CSRT8 running r18, 93CAI tune:
Autostick parameters:
Stock
Disable
In EITHER mode, my car will NOT shift up automatically when in Autostick mode when at WOT. It just holds the gear.
1)Is this normal??
2)Does this have to do with any TSB on the car?
3)How do I get a proper auto-up-shifting autostick function?
btw, I have raised shiftpoints with raised limits (6800)
PLEASE HELP
Autostick (again)

RE: Autostick (again)
If you didnt get the TCM flash TSB done then its normal. Because stock it was disabled. So, in either stock or disabled mode its still disabled. This is only on the 06's by the way. Also, 6800 is a little much for the stock valve train. I have my limitter at 6550 (+150). The raised shift points put the shift at 6400.

So if I want my Autostick to upshift on its own, then I need to get the TSB done and THEN keep it stock with the Predator? Are there any other ramifications to getting this TSB done? Good or bad?
Re: RE: Autostick (again)
Yep, gotta flash the TCM to get it to shift on its own. Some people like it some dont. Its just a personal preferance. Doesnt really matter anyway, once you flash the TCM you can have it either way with the predator. Stock or disable.johanness wrote:So if I want my Autostick to upshift on its own, then I need to get the TSB done and THEN keep it stock with the Predator? Okay, sounds good.
I've lowered to 6700 in lieu of what you've said... but if there's anyone from Diablo here that can set the record straight once & for all... that would be appreciated. Mike? Johan? Someone?
Well... when the people here at Diablosport tell you to raise your rev limiter by 1-200 if you have raised shift points... that's what i've done. The Predator starts me out at 6600 from the tune. Also, 6800 is a little much for the stock valve train. I have my limitter at 6550 (+150). The raised shift points put the shift at 6400.

RE: Re: RE: Autostick (again)
The TSB for the TCM was to fix hitting the rev limiter with the stock SRT8 in automatic mode. I guess there was an oversight and they used the same predicitive shift algorithm as the 5.7L. The 6.1L revs up faster and so it was hitting the rev limiter before there was time to complete the shift. Mainly on the 1-2 shift and some cars on the 2-3 shift as well. Not all cars did this but a lot of them did. The TCM TSB changes the algorithm to initiate the shift earlier to avoid hitting the rev limiter. At the same time they changed the autostick behavior to auto upshift if you're headed towards the rev limiter.
I don't know about r18 since I started with r20 but when I select raised shift points the Predator automatically raises the rev limiter some appropriate amount and I don't need to raise the rev limiter more than that. I believe the stock shift point is around 6100? and the stock rev limiter is 6200. On r20 the raised shift point is about 6400 and the rev limiter is automatically raised to 6500 or 6550. Even so some people report hitting the rev limiter with raised shift points. I believe it is for those cases that they suggest raising the rev limiter 100-200 more. So... IF you have the TSB, and everything is adjusted properly you should never hit the rev limiter. Just in case something goes wrong and you do hit the rev limiter you want it low enough to protect your engine. Personally I think 6700 is at the very limit but I don't really have much knowledge in this area. If it were me I would get the TSB done (don't forget to return to stock before you take it in), then start with what you have now and drop the rev limiter a little at a time until you start bumping it and then go back up one notch.

RE: Re: RE: Autostick (again)
Yeah, all we can do is make it not autoupshift currently...if it does not upshift on its own stock, we cannot make it do so.
Thanks
Thanks

On the SRT8 Jeep, there is no option to raise shift points manually. It is done for you in the canned tunes.johanness wrote:Larry: Is that with raised shift points and rev limits upped? I'm thinking of getting the TSB done so I have the CHOICE of Autostick or not. Seems to me 5800-5900 is way low. Mike? Anyone?
You actually have MORE choice without the TSB done. When you get it done, you basically have a vehicle that shifts automatically in all modes....whether you want it to shift or not. As it is now(for you at least), you can choose to hold any gear until the engine bumps the rev limiter if you want.
Mine shifts out of 1st at 5800 or 5900 rpm. It's hard to say exactly but it never reaches the 6200 that DS says that it will. All of the other shifts are at 6200.
