Hi, new to the site and just installed my performance tune. Love the fuel economy but being quite lazy, not thrilled that I will have to switch back and forth with the performance and tow tunes this summer when towing. I was talking to my guys at my local performance shop and they said that the reason there is a weight limit with the performance tune is under certain situations, you could create to much power or boost and damage components, but they also said that if I monitored the gauges and didn't push it to hard, there isn't a reason that I couldn't pull more, just that I would have to drive smart. So are they way off base or could I pull a 10-12K trailer over relatively flat Iowa ground and be safe if I watch the gauges and keep a light foot?

RE: U7131 - Towing with the performance tune installed.
We generally recommend keeping the weight down to 8000lbs when using the performance tune, but as long as you monitor EGTs and they stay in a safe range, you should be fine on flat ground with a light foot.
Thanks
