fuel economy settings

Post by bbach »

I purchased a U7130 tuner for my '03.5 Dodge Cummins automatic. What setting should I use for the best fuel economy driving but not towing? What setting should I use for the best fuel economy when towing my 11,000 lb. 5th wheel trailer?

I have not modified anything on the truck so everything is still stock. I plan on installing a pyrometer but have not done so yet. Do I need to install one before installing a tune for either towing or for around town?

Thanks!

For best mileage when not towing, use the Economy/100hp tune.
When towing, use the tow/65hp tune.

Thanks

Thanks for the info Mike!

I'm planning on towing this weekend but won't be able to get my pyro installed before then. Would I be safe using the tow/100hp tune or should I wait until the pyro is installed? I'll be on pretty much flat roads, no mountains or anything.

OK, I mean the 'Tow/65hp' setting. not 'Tow/100hp' like I mistakenly said in my reply... Sorry for any confusion. - Bruce

You will be alright using the 65hp tune as long as you do not hot rod the truck while towing.
