Not sure on the power, I know I read it somewhere what the requirements are. Can't find it right now.

USB cable you need to have the drivers for the cable to make it work correctly. You do have to watch, not all cables with work with VISTA, again if you have the drivers for Vista you'd be ok.

thats right.... so ya the db9 to usb is no prob. I ran the pred while driving for a short time yesterday so i could do a ride along to get the numbers, but i would rather run them into my laptop to get a better tune on this beast.

I found a power adapter... Will this work?

Ac Power Adaptor
model ad-850-06
input; 100-240v~,50-60hz
eing. 1.2A
output; 12V
ausg. Max.50W

Copied from the site here someplace.

2) Power Adapter:
The Predator requires a 12 Volt, 1 Amp power source to turn it on. An AC to DC power adapter allows the Predator to be turned on when not connected to the vehicle. The Power Adapter’s plug tip is 2.5mm in diameter and 5.5mm in length. The required polarity is center contact is positive and the outer contact is ground. Recommended Source: Radio Shack part number: 273-1776, 12V/1000mA AC to DC Power Adapter

tutorial updated to include logging parameter info for the older tools which can now log...

here's the info that was added to the tutorial:

** HOWEVER - those of you with the older model tools - 7192, 7193, 7195, 7198 - you don't have the AFR parameter... nor do they all have the commanded throttle position (or Accelerator Pedal Position) either... so you don't need to select those... when you load your 7192/93/95/98 log and verify parameters, it will prompt and ask you if the log was done with a 7192, 7193, 7195, or 7198... answer YES to that, and you'll be fine. It will still go through and filter the log correctly, based on the RPM ranges.

don't care when ya bought it, it's an older model... it's for older vehicles... it's been being made since 2000-2002....

I could go and buy a 2002 used car right now off the lot - yeah it's new to me, but it's still on old model car... ;)

I dont understand your remarks. I just wanted to know if there is a newer model for GM F bodies out. Should I call Diablo rather than try to find things out on the board???

yes. that is the latest revision and most up to date predator that you're going to find for your vehicle. There is nothing newer.

that's what I meant by it being an older model, for older vehicles... sorry, didn't mean to offend ya...

but it doesn't matter if it was bought yesterday, or 3 years ago - it's the same tool now as it was back then - no changes, nothing newer. It's an older model predator.
