Updates for the 7.3L Powerstroke, Fuel Economy, Tire Size...

Post by flyfish2743 »

I have a predator.
Part number 127444
Revision v.7r19d
Ford Excursion 2001 7.3 PSD

I want to update the latest software for this Predator. I see in the download area of the webpage where one can install the latest update, however I do not see a link for the "crom" file for the 7r19 (booting ford_7_3). This unit was purchased a couple of years ago so I am assuming that it is in need of an update.

Is there a way by using the predator to find out the door code on this vehicle?

How do I adjust for tire size, mine are larger than stock. What custom tune would you recommend for best fuel economy (little to no towing and not interested in speed)?

Hang tough, according to MIKEL at Diablo, they're working on a new release; probably the reason the links are inactive right now. You have the latest dz tune (Revision v.7r19d). If you follow this link, you'll find a release in work. Just be aware that if the update fails, you'll need to restore your dz tune. I have a copy if you need it.

You'll probably have to have the boys at Ford adjust your speedo, don't think the Predators for Ford diesels have the capability, wish they did. It would be nice to see things like TC lockup, EBV braking, Speedo adjust, etc.

You already have the latest update, I believe. They tried giving us new crom to update, but it seems our tools don't have enough memory. Froze during upload @ packet 8195. You can try uploading it: http://www.diablosport.com/index.php?na ... oad&id=355

If it freezes, post back or pm me. I have the 7r19dz I can e-mail you.

Good luck!
