09 SRT8 Challenger on order and newb with questions.

Post by tnek »

Please have some patience for a nwb here.
I have an 09 SRT8 Challenger on order and I have no idea when it will arrive. Im getting a few mods in line I want to do. First is the Mopar CAI and an exhaust,, probably the Magnaflow. Then I want to "tune" to match with the Predator.
My question is can I download a tune already set for these mods myself from the Prdeator site and then to my car? It seems so but I would like confirmation.
Also I live over 100 miles from my closest tuner in the Chicago area so IF I were to make the trip to one would the gains be that much more than what I can do myself if I have the tune to download? And if I go to a tuner then must I buy the predator or does the tuner use his and I save that expense? I dont see any more major mods other than CAI and exhaust and tune so I dont think Id be constantly adding more mods. Just maintenance.
Thanks for any input and patience for a new guy to the tuner world.

The Predator comes preloaded with several tunes. A 91 octane tune with and without a CAI and a 93 octane tune, again, with and without a CAI.

The tuner will make his own custom tune but in order to apply it to your vehicle it will be loaded onto your Predator and then into the vehicle. So yea, you need your own. Ya cheap skate. :P

If I were you I would NOT bother with the catback...The magnaflow drones like a MF'er...I bought it, tried sound deadening, tried installing an X pipe and ended up selling it...

If you do a CAI get the AFE S2...I ran the MOPAR and sold it to get the AFE. I'm running stock airbox again now...

So...I would just run the predator and get a K&N drop in filter :)
