More Power with Factory Tune

Post by josepht85 »

Hey, i've been running the 87 octane tune in my 06 chevy 1500 with a 5.3. I have i U7192. I had tweaked with the injector slope on the 87 tune and got them reading -0.78 and -1.46. The truck ran good but it shifted terrible and i could get it to shift very good. It would shit hard one moment the the next time it was smooth and quick. So i went on a trip this weekend and got tired of being jerked when the truck shifted so i put the the factory tune with it adjusted for my tires and gears, and the truck has a little more power and the tranny shifts nice. What do i need to do. I like to get a little more power that the factory tune.

Harsh shifting is something we have a fix for, send me a copy of the backup file and I'll make you a new 87 tune to address the issue.

Thanks

I have been trying to fix the same problem!! I like the Diablo engine tune but have the same weird shift issues.

I tried to adjust it by playing with firmness but, have had little luck adjusting 1 or 2 clicks in either direction.

Yea it gets aggravating, mine doesn't shift so hard aslong as it is loaded or pulling a hill, but like easing around town or just normal driving it shifts so hard it makes the rear end pop. Mike i got the back up tune and all, i hope i did it right, i followed the sticky, where do i need to send for you to fix my problem, Thanks

I didn't get cables and a disk. Is there something missing from my box?

nope, you have to order the PC Interface Kit separately... or go to a radio shack or walmart and get the stuff...

1: Serial Cable:
Standard straight-through DB9 (9-pin to 9-pin) RS232C serial cable (6 foot cable is more than enough). Check your computer to see if you have a male or a female port on the back, as some are different. You will need a male end to go into your Predator.
(Radio Shack Part # 26-117, 6-ft DB9 male to DB9 female shielded cable.)

2: Power Adapter:
CLASS 2 TRANSFORMER
OUTPUT : 12VDC 1000mA (1 Amp)(Radio Shack Part # 273-1776)
Note: Plug Tip is 2.5mm x 5.5mm, female, and center is positive.(Radio Shack Part # 273-1717)

Radio Shack normally carries both of these items. Most Wal-Marts have the Power Adapter (multi output version).

I'm getting the same thing when I do an 87 tune versus the stock tune. I posted a while back on this (week or two ago).

I'm going to buy the cables already so that I can do all kinds of logging.

Mike can I send you my tune as well?? :) :) :)

Geez, Mike....

I would send ya my tune ...but after all the ribbings I've given you, I'm afraid you might just really get even with me and fix my tune alright!!

What changes in your tune? Is there a parameter not in the predator to fix this?

correct, WhiteBuffalo... there are settings that are available in their CMR Tuning Suite that are NOT available in the predator...

basically, their dealer software, CMR Tuning Suite, is like HP Tuners... has access to EVERYTHING.....

so, send him your tune... they'll hook ya up...

give him the tune that is currently in your vehicle now...

instructions...

that way, all of your personal adjustments will already be in the tune.... and you won't have to make them again when you install the custom tune...

so i need to reload my 87 tune, and adjust my slope and gear and tire ratio and send it? I'm really confused on all the saving programs and all. I haven't messed with it very much. I reinstalled the stock tune in my truck and just adjusted my tires, gear ratio, and top speed. I followed the sticky and download a backup. Is that my factory settings or the ones i had in the tuner. I may just need to call and get things explain. Once i have the new tune will i lose the old one?
