Wideband O2 datalogging

Post by larryc7777 »

Whatever became of the "collaboration" between Innovate & DS? There was supposed to be an interface of some kind developed that would allow the Predator to accept the input from an Innovate wideband sensor/controller. The last that I heard, the 2 companies were both saying that each was waiting on the other to supply some needed data. Is this feature ever going to come about?

Over a 18 months & they STILL can't get a working solution. That's BS.

Well, looks like I'm not registered on their forum ... might be the only car related forum in the world that I'm not registered on :)

I'm confused. I didn't read the whole thread over there but fitzpat is talking about a plugin. Where's the hardware? If the integrated logging is only a plugin that implies that you have to use a PC and do live logging on both devices (Predator and Innovate wideband). That's rather restrictive.

I was expecting a hardware addon. Predator is on the bus and talking OBDII. You'd take the 0v-5v output of the innovate and run it into some hardware that would put it on the bus or directly to the Predator so it looked like just another OBDII PID. maybe something that goes between the OBDII port and the existing Predator OBDII port plug. Did I miss something here?

The LC-1 DOES ship with a cable that has a 2.5mm stereo plug on one end & a DB9 serial connector on the other. The Predator has a DB9 serial port. Maybe that's the method for getting data into the Predator.

Oooh. Yep, that would solve the physical problem. That would exclude live logging with the predator but that's ok. I would think that would require large software enhancement in the Predator. It would fit with the need for a "plugin" for the predator data viewer.
