U7193 Rev9r01 vs Rev 2 and 3

Hey guys does anyone have info on what changed on rev 2 and 3? Tune updates or just tool updates? Also if I have modified my 9r01 DS Perf Tune and I update to Rev 2 or 3 do I have to go back in and rechange my mods?

you're always better off getting the latest revision... they usually fix little bugs from previous versions... especially with those 9rxx releases...

before you update the predator, you want to make sure you restore your original backup to your vehicle...

THEN update the predator to the latest revision...

then re-install the tune to your vehicle using the newly updated predator...

and yes, you will have to make all of your adjustments again.

LOL... No actually I meant I got the latest tool U7193 9rXXX version so I can log.. It does have Rev2 on it was just curious what had changed from 1-3 to see if worthwile to update... Maybe I should update to Rev3 before I do to much cause dont want to have to do it twice... I will let you know how the logs go.. I am sure I will need some help..

There is always a revision history right on the downloads page:

Release 9r03 (current)(Custom tune fix, custom params for 12593058AV added)
Release 9r02 (Internal Update) 07-24-08
Release 9r01 (Initial release)

does this apply to those of us who can't log? and if so, what does it do?

and

Release 9r03 (current)
can the old units upgrade to this version? are there a few specific advantages it offers?

no, the dataviewer is only for the new 9rXX units that can save logs... not you...

and no again, you can not upgrade to the new version, since the older ones are not internet updatable... cuz the NEW ones are using different hardware... again, not you...

Still awaiting the arrival of my unit... but is the revision (or version) printed on the back of the unit for easy ID?

when you plug in the predator, it will boot up through a couple screens, then it will be at the main menu...

once it's there, look at the top of the screen, there will be a revision number... if you JUST ordered it and are getting it brand new, you should be getting a 9rXX revision - one of the new ones that can log and download updates via the DS site...

however, if a vendor is still getting rid of old stock, you could end up with a 2.XX revision, like another guy on here did... in which case, you can not save logs or download updates...

Thanks Lew, you saved me a trip to RadioShack and a couple bucks, guess I'll go wash my truck instead.

so the old units:
1) can't log, and as far as we know won't ever be able to log, and thus can't utilize DSLOGREDUX or post a .csv file for anyone to analyze
2) can't be updated by the end user to a newer revision

Why then, do the old units have a power input at the top and the 9 pin connector at the bottom and have the option "PC communication"?

If this is the case old units verses new units of the same model , There is protection out there against market dumping! Besides:

Guys, I am the one that got the old unit... The vendor was very cool about quickly shipping me out a new one and paid to have the old one shipped back.. But do be aware there are some older models out there and you might get one..
