Trouble in Paradise with v9r07

Holy crap! You guys didn't modularize the CROM source? You maintain an entire separate source for each calid? Give me a lifetime allocation for 1 free of every DiabloSport product present and future and I'll help you with your software design. You'll save millions on maintenance going forward

If I have to send this in and drive on my stock tune I am going to be angry. I do not want the hassel of finding a box, going to the post office to stand in line, and paying for shipping.

Does it still say app missing or corrupt?
If so, it will take a crom.
Not sure what the problem is, make sure you are in Legacy mode, and that you have the proper com port selected.
Thanks

That is what is is saying. I followed the procedures in the help files step by step and it did nothing to help. My computer screed sits on the cycle power screen and the Pred stays on the error message. I cycle the power and it just boots up to the error message.mikel wrote:Does it still say app missing or corrupt?

I changed the Com setting to 12 and it took the CROM and down loaded it. Guess what? The first screen to pop up is............ "The application is missing or corrupt." I loaded the v9r07 and it worked (except for the afore mentioned problems). I then tried to load the temp CROM again and still get the error message.

Thanks for your continued support
I'm satisfied that you're working on addressing the problem and have finally eliminated operator error as the cause of our problem.
I trust that as usual you will get a good, safe crom file out there for download as soon as possible.
I can wait and will run on the newest stock calid which I successfully downloaded through your tool. Even stock, my car now runs alot stronger!!!
I can hardly wait to thrash out the newest Performance tunes that you have for us.

LOST MENU OPTIONS NO BIG DEAL - MAKES SENSE
After speaking with DS Tech today I see the reasoning for removing these options from the performance menu.
If you are getting the "The application is missing or corrupt" error have a look at the front page of the DS Downloader menu. It specifically tells you what to do right in the program to fix. I didn't have this error, in fact no errors, this was an intentional removal according to the tech I just spoke with and it makes sense.
**option "Modify Stock Tune" - why would you want this under the performance options? Why would you want to modify your vehicles stock tune? The menu is for Performance tunes.
**option "Original Backup" already exists on the unit in a different menu anyway, why have it in Performance tunes? It makes sense to have removed it from this menu except for those quick to jump as I was last night when the options were removed from my Predator.
SO - I went through the entire process over the past hour or so, going back to older CROM files and the options came back, but I took it back to the 9r07 tune without the options because there is really no need for it. My Predator has no errors and I am not worrying about the two options in the Performance tune menu.
I noticed very little differences with exception to shift points at WOT being a little smoother. I did enjoy about a 2 - 3 MPG increase on a 250 mile trip today. That is always welcome!
Have fun Johan! I will be watching for 9r08 but likely won't load it unless it's necessary. How about some new canned performance tunes for those with 89 octane availability only? I run into that sometimes and sure wish I had it! I'd also like a coupon for the Trinity when it's released this fall. No one at DS replied to that!

RE: LOST MENU OPTIONS NO BIG DEAL - MAKES SENSE
I DID go through the entire process for the errors on DSDownloader. I am not an idiot and can read. I have problems with the TEMP TUNE and not the v9r07. The temp tune gives me errors regardless of what is done on my 06 Charger R/T.

So, are you saying 9r07 will load now?
If so, you are OK....no need to mess with the 9t08

RE: LOST MENU OPTIONS NO BIG DEAL - MAKES SENSE
I am going to stay with the 9r07. I finally was able to load CROMs after changing communication settings. However after loading 9r07 I went back and loaded the temp CROM and it loaded fine. However, after the download it gave the error message again all the time.
I just went back to the 9r07 and will stay with it until you fix what ever is wrong.

I was OK the entire time just was up really late and freaked out. It loaded the first try, just the menu change threw me.mikel wrote:So, are you saying 9r07 will load now?

One of your support guys explained why the options were removed and it makes sense, they aren't needed. However it seems you have many more than myself to deal with so I would post a sticky ASAP letting those updating to this CROM about the removal of Modify Stock Tune and Backup Original from the Performance Menu and perrhaps a link to fix the missing or corrupt errors.
If you don't you will be inundated for weeks with calls and others crashing their Predators showing up with missing or corrupt errors that if you read the instructions and the DS dwonloader main menu page it tells you how to fix that, pretty hard to miss.
SO MIKE, I don't need to load this new CROM, correct? All you guys did was add the two menu options back into the Performance Menu right?
And once again, always available to beta test the Trinity in my 05 Grand Cherokee or 06 Charger RT!
Re: LOST MENU OPTIONS NO BIG DEAL - MAKES SENSE
I read all of this. I even commented a few times trying to help. Even though I didn't have any problem what so ever I was very concerned and I believe I've been irreparably traumatized by the whole incident. I'd like a coupon for a Trinity alsoSavage68 wrote:I'd also like a coupon for the Trinity when it's released this fall. No one at DS replied to that!
