Newbie w/300 SRT8

Post by MikesSRT »

I recently bought the Predator and have been extremelly happy since day one. Since a run Sunoco 93 w/Octane booster I downloaded the 93 CAI tune. I also have the Mopar CAI and Corsa exhaust installed. You can really tell the difference in attitude. She pulls strong all they way thru shift point. The shifts are firm. What was fun is now a freakin Blast! Anyway today I wanted to check trouble codes and to my delight I have no trouble codes and I have bounced this thing off the rev limiter twice. I also ran some diagnostics. Didn't really see alot. Any suggestions on which pids I should be looking at?
I have a 2006 300SRT8 w/ CAI/ Corsa exhaust
The Predator is a 7135 rev r905

Look at your ST Knock. But more importantly save yourself the guesswork and go have one of the dealers do a CMR Tune, in a quick trip to their dyno you will have your car peaked for performance. My '06 is modded like yours without the exhaust and with a thermostat, my guess is that your car is running real good now anyway.

Thanks, which dealers are you talking about? A tuner? Do you know where I can find one in Buffalo?

You should learn the logging and what the results mean. If for no other reason than ... you can :)

Try throttle position or engine load
Timing at cyl #1
Short term knock retard
Long term knock retard
RPM
MPH
IAT temp
ECT temp

It's not just a good idea, it's fun!

If you can't find a really good tuner in your area and go with an email tune I'd recommend Steve at RDP. He's one of the very best out there. (dynosteve @ yahoo.com)
2006 Magnum SRT8
AFE Stage II
Mopar Cat Back
185* T-stat

Thanks for the great feedback. I plan on doing some logging. Is pulling thru the rpm band in 2 or 3rd a good data set? Also I've heard Steve w?RDP is one of the best tuners, any thoughts?
