Not sure myself if there is TM in the manuals, but the tunes do not remove it if it is there.

Thanks

I think its a safety issue as far as the transmission goes, it will last longer.......

c/p: from another site

The Torque Management system is used by Dodge to prevent full fueling below certain RPM's, speed, and boost. This helps to protect the drivetrain (ie. tranny) and reduces warranty work for them.

Programmers like the BD and Smarty have the ability to reduce or eliminate the TM system altogether. It's definitely not advised on trucks with stock trannsmissions/clutches though.

So is there anything out there that ONLY turns off torque management?

Nothing that i know of the ONLY turns it off, it comes with some sort of tune. I played around with that a little the other day and it is just a torque table, truck does not feel good when you allow it for that much torque down low(IMHO)and yes it does puff quite a bit more smoke that way.

I have the 6 speed G56. If I pull even fairly hard from under 1300 rpm's on any tune other than tow, I'll leave a plume of smoke that will have Delray Beach's finest looking for the fire. Once the turbo spools (yes, using boost fooler too) say over 1500 rpm, the exhaust cleans right up, however.

Interesting to note that the LOW RPM TORQUE is much more likely to make the stock clutch slip than pushing it hard above 2000 rpm's -- though I can make the clutch come loose at all rpm's on Economy/Performance or Extreme... Gonna need a Southbend Clutch sometime in my future....

JOHAN -- Do we have a reputable clutch installer in our area (Delray / Boca) that can handle the job, including the hydraulic upgrade, etc... ??? Thanks.

I dont know of anyone local who specializes in that to be honest with you. I always have one guy by our shop do all the work to my truck(he is actually buying it) but I highly recommend him.

Johan, what do you mean by, "truck does not feel good?" How likely is it that turning off the tm could tear up a full billet tranny?

I used to own another downloader that would remove tq mgmt and it was rediculous and had nowhere near the power of my predator. If i went past 1/2 throttle i had no more power and at take off on a wet road, well it was crazy. I talked to the guys at this company and they said all it was basically was that it tricked the PPS/APPS into thinking you pushed the pedal further than you did and thats why it died at 1/2 throttle. I also had to have dodge replace 2 throttle sensors because of their crap. My dealer is very mod friendly and they said " you have a @^% dont you........ Some of you guys will know what DL i am referring to. I am not going to mention their name on here as i truely believe they are crap. As for the guys with the manual tranny; from what i have been told it would not be advised to try it and i am not sure it would even work. They said that basically you would not be able to use the lower 2-3 gears as it would rev out to quickly. BUT........ Johan and the guys at diablo have worked some serious magic so far so i guess only time will tell. I am also on DTR with DD and Dzilla and the others, you can gain a lot of great knowlede/info there as well.
