have you checked your fuel pressure? Is your fuel pump stock? You said you replaced your fuel filter, right? I would also try running some injector cleaner with your next tank. If you think your pinging......which like described sounds like a glass jar full of marbles........please use your Predator to take out some ignition timing and add more fuel. You will have to test this in small increments until your car is driveable again. Without a wideband it's not going to be perfect but you can make improvements with some alterations in the tune.

I personally wouldnt recommend the typhoon, after i installed it there was no difference at all, i think i might have even lost some power, the typhoon os almost like a stock one, the same on the outside for bolt on purposes, but the inside design of the typhoon is almost the some as the stock one VERY little difference, if at all(except for the material its made with). I read somewhere that the typhoon might even make you lose up to 15 horses. Only reason i got it was because the shop i took it to had it laying around bran new and sold it to me for VERY cheap, i needed a quick fix because the stock plastic one was getting pretty bad.

If your looking into buying an intake manifold i would go with a HPS Hardball'r i heard they are some of the best, my friend has one on his gt and he gained like 25 or 30 horses on the dyno

Go see that guy that builds his oun ford race cars and if he has a dyno that would be a bonus.
pre ignition will break the ring landz on the pistonz!!
the typhoon intake manifold is a 1500 to 6500 RPM intake recomended to run with a race cam, high compresstion or super,, turbo charger it was made to port match with the cyl. heads and that stuff, is even on the pro productz web site

Wait. you're using 86 octane with a 91 octane tune?

Dunno about your car, but on my old 5.0 I can check FP with a gauge mounted to the schraeder valve. You might be able to datalog with FP with the Predator, though. Also, keep in mind pinging is caused by a lean A/F mixture. So less timing and more fuel in the WOT settings, assuming that it only pings at WOT.

Last thing, but still important........if your hearing pinging, LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL!!! Good luck bro

i checked the fuel pressure using the predetor and it reads around 20% at idle and at around 30% at part throttle, dont know were these numbers are suppose to be at so can anybody tell me if there are correct or if it needs adjusting... just one question before i change the plugs on the car, what are they suppose to be gapped at???

not sure on the gap specs, a Haynes or Chilton manual comes in handy in these situations. As far as the fuel pressure......not sure about percentage values, I've only tuned mechanically via psi values.

Add some fuel pressure at WOT or adjust your MAF curve........back the timing off a couple degrees in the global parameter section and report back

did some research for ya, gap is .052-.056.....don't forget to use some anti-seize on the threads as well. For the record, I don't think changing your plugs is going to stop your pinging. Good luck!

do you have headers or an aftermarket mid-pipe? Ticking sounds like an exhaust leak to me

try adding fuel at WOT and back off global timing by 2 degrees first and lets go from there

no no headers or aftermarket mid pipe only flowmaster mufflers and i removed the cats from the original H pipe

retarded the timing by two and added 5 to the WOT and nothing it is still still the same
