pedator lights up but there is no text in display

i just got my predator in the mail.the 7194 with the update 9r05.i pluged it into my car and it lights up but nothing comes up on the display.no text or anything just the green backround.i then used the usb cable and power supply to plug it into my laptop and the same thing green light no text .is this thing dead already..please help.

on the back of the unit is a hole, with a black screw in it - that's for the contrast of the screen...

turn that to see if the screen contents appear...

just tried it.the small blocks in the center of the screen darken.but nothing comes up.no text ,no messages nothing.

sounds like a bad display... you'll have to fill out the RMA form and get ready to ship it back to diablosport to get it fixed...
