You got it. The 5.7s have the best performance at the stock shift points. The raised shift points feel and sound cooler but you won't get down the track as fast.

everyone says 6000 rpm shiftpoints work better and claim improvements at the track, i agree the hp quickly falls down after the peak hp was reached on these cars. also shift firmness should work regardless of the shiftpoints at least thats how i recall it on my car.

venom all i can suggest is to try the different settings for yorself. remember the point is to get the revs on the next shif back where the power is made.

I don't know much about it but, like you said above, you have to also consider where you land on the rpm curve when you hit the next gear. So you have to balance both ends right? If you're too low at the bottom of the next gear you're going to lose time but if you run off the power curve on the top end you're going to lose time. How did where you fall after the shift look on the dyno?

From the graph it kind of looks like stock would work best? What RPMs do you land at right after the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts? Wouldn't anything about 3750 or above be ideal? Johan recommends stock. Stock is what guys have recommended after carefully comparing their track times.

Personally, I'd go 6,000. You're driving it every day. More RPM and noise just sounds cooler and feels better. I spent about $1,500 on an exhaust which probably bought me 10 to 15 hp. But it puts a big smile on my face every time I drive the car.

Stock shift points will get you best et"s. Manifold is dead at 5600 with cams & heads. Strokers will use it further. long intake runners make great torque but sacrifice up top. 4000lbs need torque to move & torque drops earlier

I'm manually shifting mine and trying for 5800 rpms. At the track shifting slightly higher yielded a faster trap speed by slower ET.

My car runs 7.70s in 1/8 on 125 shot at 5600. Any higher & it goes slower ET's. Thats on regular BFG KDW's 40 PSI High 1.70s sixty footers

Now how the hell do you get 1.70 60' times? I can't get better then 1.90 and I have AWD. And with that 1.90 comes a lousy 7.99 1/8th at just 90mph.

Gotta be the added weight of the GC over the Charger just not wanting to move.
