Help! sort of confuse if it's ready to go

Post by alex3dworld »

i have own a 7135 unit for a while.
i trade the car and i forgot to put the backup settings back to the car.
i want to give the predator now to a friend of mine, but i want to be sure i won't screw his car.
i did the last update to the predator, it works perfect but still it shows the info of my car, vin number, etc

if i conect now the predator to my friend's car, does the unit will acept the new car? save his stock settings to the predator rewriting my old stuff? and apply all the tuns?
do i have to download something to format the unit?

Help please

No it will not work on your friends car, it will look for your old cars VIN#, if it doesn't see that then you're SOL... If you can find the person whom you sold the car to and return that back to stock (if you can talk them into it), then you can use the predator on your friends car.......

I'd have to defer to the experts, I'm sure Johan or Mike will be in to answer that one for you.

Unfortunately unless you can restore the stock tune to the car it is married to, it cannot be unlocked.

the unit cannot be unlocked? or your company don't want to unlocked?
it sounds to me more like a company policy rather than a hardware issue
today everything can be delete, saved, formated, reformated, etc.
don't tell me that you guys don't have the tecnology to clean up all the saved data
so basicaly the unit is gone? that's it?
i bought the unit from an autorized dealer, i register the unit as soon as i bought it, in this web site
What for?

I apologize, but there are reasons we have this policy in place.

Also, in the owners manual, it is clearly stated what must be done in order to take the tool from one car to another.

Sounds like someone wants DS to take responsibility for fixing a problem that they caused. How does a person "forget" to put the stock tune back to the car before trading it in for another car? Sounds a little fishy to me.

Fishy?
look kid, i'm 37 years old, i hope life teach you later when and were you should give opinions and respect a little more

there is nothing fishy here, yes still there is people like me that forget things. actually i didn't forget. i though about it but i said, well will be even better for the new owner if they take the car tuned already.

my wish is to clean the unit, i can give you all the data about my car, dealer phone numbers, vins, everything, i don't know why you guys are so paranoid, i register the unit a year ago under my name and vin number,
may i know at less why i can't receive any help?

You mean two people to use the unit at the same time Mike?
well this is not my case. in fact:
there is no way to do that because the unit can tune only one car at the time.
if I still had my charger what is the point to ask for help? will be easier to put back the settings and I can give the predator to my friend.
I could understand that for security reasons (image that I’m a thief and I robed a predator from a car and now I want to clean it to use it for myself) Diablo sport don't give that kind of support to everybody.
that's why is so important to REGISTER the unit as soon you BUY it.
and that's what I did.
my predator is under my name, address and car vin number. non thief in this world will answer those questions.
again guys I found unfair what you are doing to me.
I pay $375 for that unit. is not 3 cents.

I need your help. please!!!!!!!!!!

There's a way around every electronically programmed device out on the market. The problem is obtaining the knowledge and software to do so. It will cost more for all of that along with headaches compared to buying another programmer. They keep things like that for very specific reasons. If they didn't lock the units, they would make a lot less money, you wouldn't have top notch tuning, you wouldn't have any of the tech support and quite frankly, you probably wouldn't have anything available at all as far as a tuner is concerned. They must make money to keep all of us happy. It's how the world goes around. :D

I'm sure Ross Shannon would be able to help you out  .....lol???????hehehehe

So, unless you return your previous vehicle back to stock to "unmarry" that programmer you have a useless pice of plastic. You basically gave away a $400 tuner to the buyer. Those tuners are on sale for $319 for a brief time this holiday season. I would take advantage of that.
It doesn't matter that you registered it. If they gave a "free" tuner to everyone that registered the handhelds, they wouldn't make any money. There's nothing to show you did infact sell the vehicle, or that you didn't sell your truck to a friend so they can benefit from the tune. The money is in the tunes per say not necessarily the handheld! As long as the tune remains in a vehicle, the tuner is married to that specific vehicle and will not work for any other vehicle. Unfortunately the first time that ecu gets flashed by the dealer, the buyer of that truck is gong to think they governed his truck....lol

Just buy another tuner. Crying and moaning won't get you another tuner. Yeah, it does suck, but I'm sure you won't make that mistake again....well, hopefully not!

all you guys are trowing stones to your own kind, remember that you, like me,we all are the same, just users, consumers, but rather than help me...no:
go to hell dude!!, is your fault dude!! screw you dude!!
i'm really amazed how kind this community is
come on, we are all human beings, we all make errors.

about your coment:
........."There's nothing to show you did infact sell the vehicle"..................
in fact:
yes, i have a thousand ways to prove that in fact i sold my car, i can fax diablosports my new vehicle contract when you can see that i trade my charger (including the vin number) for a new car
i can fax also the the old contract buying my charger
what else do i need to prove my words?
birth certificate? driver licence copy?
yes i can fax you all the documents you want.
becouse i'm saying the true.
i just want to clean the unit.
i'm sorry i forgot to put the back up back to my car.
Mikel please....................?????????????

what you do not seem to want to understand is you tuned 1 car and forgot to return to stock, so there is one tuned car running around out there somewhere, now if it were to be unlocked you would be free to tune car 2. That would be the same thing as you owning two cars and tuning both with the same unit at the same time. As far as the moderators responding, I believe they have.I think they said no. Further discussion would be a waste of time

Yeah unfortunately thats our policy and we have to stick to it.
You can not get a hold of the guy who bought the car so you can set it back to stock?
