knocking after diablosport tune srt4
any diablosport guys on here? I just got a tune form brian (it is awesome, by the way) but i am seeing some knock (fluctuating as high as 3.5) when logging st knock with the diablo. I am not too familiar with the timing and knock aspect but wondered why i am getting it and what can be done to stop it.
Other than that, the tune works great!

where is the knock at?? could you post up a log here?

Has any NOT seen knock with the performance tune? I know I see quite a bit when I first hit the throttle. Maybe it's tip-in detonatoin? I need to get a log with the stock tune to see if it goes away.

I had 1count but it was right at 6K shift point.. My tune seems fine..
that is what i was afraid of had the stage one pcm, stage two wga setup for a long time and it pulled hard with safe afrs (11.5-11.
but the diablo has to be able to outperform that especially with my new mod (big fmic). I mean that is what it is made for right? custom tunes for more power. I want to say again also, I am not in any way dogging the predator. I think it is a great tool and love the end user adjustments, just need to work out the kinks.

Ok, If you are getting knock just before the shift..... up in the really high RPM range than it could be false knock. I am not 100% sure about the SRT-4's but the HEMI's tend to false knock at WOT in the high RPM's, just before shift. If you want, Try pulling 1* of timing at a time and adding 2% fuel in the high RPM range at a time until it goes away or until you are happy. The SRT-8 guys have had to add as much as 10%-12% fuel because the 6.1's tend to be more prone to knock than the 5.7's...but I doubt you will need to add that much fuel.

Well there's your answer then... IF you compensate for the knock AND the car slows down. Then it wan't truly knocking... The balance shafts have a tendancy to make noise up high... I saw this on Sfla-srt4s car during intial testing and even I compensated for it both with timing and fuel individually and lost up to 20whp on the top end... I checked plugs and everything. It's not knocking... Definitely false.solodogg wrote:i've seen it on every tune i've had. just modified the ds 93 tune to -4 timing from 5-6k, and added 5% fuel from 3-6k, and the KR went to 0 finally, but the car is considerably slower.

its not easy for the tuner to get it right by sending you tune files thru email. only way to get a tune right is prolly get on the dyno and get cmr tune.
if you get a tune file and get knock thats where the nice thing about the predator is you can then fine tune it, changing fuel or timing etc.
