2000 7.3 not right on 60

just got a u7170 from a friend and installed today loaded it on economy 60 hp. Loaded fine but went to start truck started up then it was like it was loaping (ru,ru,ru,ru,ru ) thats hard to explaine then it shut off started right back up with same thing like it was loading up after a time or two it would clear up and idle .I tryed another tune on 85 and it loaded fine and ran fine so any info or help well be greatly appreciated

just changed it a week before i installed it only acts up when the 60hp tune is installed got it on the 85hp now and it dosent act up

when you power it up.screen will say something like rev.7r19dz...or rev.8r05...what does it say when you power it up?

That is an older version.I had that on mine when I first bought it.More than likely your programmer has the smaller memory 128k..for those of us wanting to use the latest files,we had to do the memory upgrade to the 512k. Have you downloaded the DS downloader to download the files to your programmer?If not,you will need to.Unfortunately,the listed file in the product support page Will NOT fit into yours,memory is too small.I did install the 7r19dz file before the upgrade and it is a very good file in my oppinion.If you want me to email the 7r19dz file lemme know.Hope this helps.

would it help if i sent it in for the upgrade ??? either way i still cant get the economy 60hp tune to act right it dseems to load fine but it just dosent act right its souds like a big tractor puller idleing kinda cool but i know its not right after a few it clears up and idles fine just not sure ??????

You will benefit from sending it in .I like the adjustability that it gives you.Also,in the future,when updates become available im pretty sure you WILL need to have the larger memory.The amount of adjustable parameters and such on the new files are just to large for the older units.I would vote YES on the upgrade.Do yourself a favor though before you send it in.PUT YOUR TRUCK BACK TO THE FACTORY SETTINGS .If not I think they charge $50.00 extra .

thanks i just downloaded the DS downloader so im ready on that part just have to get me a cable but think ill just send it in for upgrade plan on keeping the truck so may payoff gain thank you now mike where did you go ????

What do you want to do with it now?

I'd run the 85 for now and stick with that till you send it in.

Remember to restore the stock tune before sending it in.
