is it necessary to install a wideband along with the predator? is it possible to get a download or just be told exactly what to set the parameters to in order to get the proper performance out of it?
basically, do i need to buy a wideband, or can i just get somebody from diablo to tell me how to set it up?

Yes you need to buy a wideband to monitor your A/Fs and tune off of. The air/fuel PID in the diablo is not your actual a/f, its just what the PCM is calling for. The wideband is crucial if your going to run higher than stock boost!!

buy a wideband its the best investment you will ever make in parts.

RE: srt-4 wideband
Hey Hey
Ok we need a wide band what is the best one out there? we have a scan gauge but we are trying to find out how it works as far as the wide band side of it.The one we have the Interceptor scan gauge but we are not sure how to get the wide band to work I know it has a set up for two analog readings. But we are not sure if that's were we need to hook up for the wide band. I see that they have a pro gauge and I am hoping that we got the pro gauge, but we still have not found out how to tell if its a pro gauge or not.If anybody out there has this gauge and knows how to tell a pro gauge from one that's not let me know LOL

The wideband will have a controller that should have a 0v - 5v analog output (most all do). If your scan gauge takes a 0v - 5v analog input then you would wire it into that. The scan gauge should have some way to scale/translate the input. For example the specs on the wideband might be that it's range is 10 - 20 AFR that corresponds to the 0v - 5v output. On the scan gauge you would configure the intercept to be 10 and the factor to be 2. That give you a conversion formula of (2 * V) + 10 which would convert the analog output to AFR. Then you should be able to select that parameter to monitor on the scan gauge.
If you already have the scan gauge and you're planning to use that as the display and for logging then Innovate has the LC-1 which you can get without a display gauge. Sensor and cable with the controller integrated in the cable. Depends on what you want and if you're going to be adding other sensors and how you're planning on doing the display and how you plan on doing the logging. What you want is integrated logging. Innovate and PLX make fine systems. There are others like FAST that make quality sensor/gauges as well.

the scan guage is not a wideband.. You can buy a wideband, and then hook it up to the 0-5V refrence of the scan guage to monitor the a/fs, but you must set it up.
many people have the AEM EUGO wideband. Its all personal prefrence but the eugo can be found on ebay for around $200..

Yup, the scangauge doesn't have a wideband built in. It has a screen where you can custom label a Analog input as A/F's since that is what alot of people do, wire their wideband into the scangauge to be able to record the data or have it all on one screen. I have the AEM UEGO and it has worked great for the last 2.5-3 years. Just take one of the Analog output wires from the UEGO and connect it to the Analog input of the scangauge. Then go into the menu of the scangauge and setup the slope and intercept so that it will correctly calculate the voltage to a a/f ratio that you understand.
How old is your scangauge? Did you you buy it used or new? Is there like a little chip on the back of it or is there nothing other than the plug port?

Ok, then I think you have the new one then. on the older one and the newer one you can setup the analog inputs for the AEM UEGO, but on the newer one you can change the label of Analog 1 or 2 to A/F Ratio. On the old one it would read Analog 1 or 2 and you would just need to know which one is wired to the wideband.
