Post by mfleet22 »

ride is an 04 and i have the u7130. i am lookin for a tune that gives a decent gain and lets me lay down some smoke. i have set on extreme but am seeing very little in the way of smoke. can anyone send me a link or point me toward a tune that will help me out (friend told me about a puffer tune???) thanks in advance.

Just a question cause I am trying to understand people, but if you don't have the funds to replace one now, why would you want to waste diesel making smoke??? Just trying to figure it out in my head.

because i can afford to spend an extra $20 every once in awhile to smoke out a ricer, but not the $5000 it would take to buy/install the proper trans. quite a difference in overall price...

LOL, now that's funny! I never thought of that! :) Here's an idea, wonder if it would work, get a small propane tank, and ignitor, a couple of injectors of some type, a small tank with a pump. Hook up a propane and used oil set up in the end of the tailpipe with the ignitor starting the flame and the other injector making a fine mist of oil, bet that would smoke pretty good! Just kidding, hope you get your answer to the question. My guess is that no matter what tune you put in the truck, your foot is the key to the life of your components.

As long as you keep your foot out of it, you'll be fine.

if u have an auto which sounds like u do then even running extreme u run the risk of damaging it,especially trompin on it racin ricers,if u load the puffer tunes on a stock auto u will be on here saying the pred ruined your tranny hahah,if ur makin power with not much smoke then thats a good thing,u are burning all the fuel and not wasting any, also i think, someone corect me if im wrong, the autos have a smalller turbo which probaly lites faster meaning less smoke,if ur smokin the tires with no blk smoke ur lucky but ur tranny isnt gonna like u much hahah

yeah i am aware of what the text reads, but i am looking for some people who have ran these tunes on a stock tranny (not to say that the text or your statements are not valid). i also understand that smoke= wasted fuel, but i would just love to have the option to blow some every once in awhile...

well if u really want to try one, plug in ur pred to ur truck and go to the info page on it and see what version on the pred u have, write it down, and also on the info page see what calid u have, also write that down, now unplug the pred and get a serial to usb cord, unless ur puter has a serial plug but most dont, and a 12v power supply and download the pred downloader program from here in the downleads section, then go to the 200hp stiky in this section and go to the appropriate section, the pre r28 or post r28 which ever version u have in ur pred, then find the tune that matches ur calid and downlead that and then run the dsloader program and plug in ur pred and folow the instructions, then plug the pred into ur truck and go to diablo tunes and then custom tunes and load up the one u want,it should habe stored 4 custom tunes.the puff tunes kik assssss but u have been warned many times it can harm a stock auto and if u dont have gauges its a realllllllly bad idea.let us know how u make out

I ran them on my stock tranny. they make a lot of power. I could feel in the seat how it was attempting to rip that stock tc out of my truck. Sure is nice power but be carefull. Like I said you will feel it when your hurting it. The engine just keeps wanting to go and the tranny struggles to keep up. good luck. I swapped out my tc shortly after running those tunes, and the tranny guy said it was a good thing, it was showing plenty signs of heat.

i run mine on extreme 99% of the time. I dont tromp on it 99% of the time though, and my stock trans has held up great over the last 6 months
