Hey guys I just recently bought a predator diablo sport tuner for my truck. i love the power it makes. i just don't like how hard it makes my trans shift. i did some live data reading and most 1-2 upshifts with stock prog are around 14-20psi and 62psi being the max. with the tune upshifts easing ontp throttle normal driving are 45-50psi
i like to run the 85hp tune on my truck. this increases global pressues by 35psi, i turned this down a bit to 20psi global raise. which i am guessing is not really a good idea? anyways is there anyway to get my truck to stop shifting so damn hard when loaded with a tune, and not kill my trans? stock it shifts like butter.
thanks
Kyle

also with the 85hp tune my turbo seems to not be able to catch and will drop boost around 15psi and it sounds like the turbo dumped its load?

You can lower the shift pressure as much as you like, but eventually a lack of line pressure will cause it to slip with the extra torque.
As for the boost drop, that is odd. Is there a Check engine light when this happens?

no CEL no codes. i was getting some KAM 603 errors but thats it. seems when its in 3rd and you mash it it will build boost hard then you can hear the turbo dumping like your letting off to quickly. the boost guage drops from 15-13-11 then it will come back to 15 and go on to 22psi. almost like it has a bit of lag in the fuel or something.
i realize for every action there is a reaction....lowering line psi will eventually result in slippage....but will that reaction come faster than the damage from jerky hard shifts all the time?

I had somewhat the same issue when I first loaded the 9r03...loaded the 9r04..problem solved.KyleOH wrote:well just noticed i had a 9r03 so i updated to 9r04 and reprogrammed the 85hp. seems to shift a lot smoother. i will drive it around a few days and log some data.
