Update U7145 to CL7140

Post by Vapor7 »

Can I load cl7140_cnl_05-9r03 (crom) onto my U7145 that has u7145-9r03.crom (crom) on it in order to get the C&L CIA tunes ?
Or, will this totally F*$# up my Predator ?

2007 V6 Mustang ATX w-FloMaster axle back and C&L CIA.
Now running the Predator 87 Performance tune.

No, that cant be done.

Best bet would be to get a custom tune from one of our CMR dealers.

I am guessing that Diablo doesn't support C&L because of the deal you have with them in creating the custom 7140s for them to sell but you should support your product and one of the most popular CAI's out there. I am using the Steeda tune and adding to the MAF 8%. Seems to work OK but I guess I'll shell out the $s to Doug to get a few custom tunes exactly for my car.
The Predator was an awesome tuning device for the car when it was stock but I am sorely disappointed in it not supporting C&L CAIs. You should have written a different deal with them so your customers don't suffer.

It is up to C&L that we do not support these intakes in the U7140/U7145, since they sell the CL7140.

FYI and others - The JLT tune is perfect for the C&L. Since installing that one I have tons of low end torque and HP up high too.
I can pull from a dead stop in third with no hesitation and actually it pulls better in 3rd than most other cars do in 1st. In drive it just burns the tires and I have a Trac-Loc so it's both tires. Doesn't stop till it shifts to 2nd and then still burns a little. (gotta buy some Goodyear stock)
Now I'm happy with you guys again. After a couple of runs with the C&L and the JLT tune, all I can say is;
"THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN BOUT"
This setup is awesome BUT you really do need to let the C&L owners know the tune is in there.

No, since we (nor you) have not tested this to berify air/fuel ratios on the dyno and the street it is not by any means something we would recommend.

Thanks

I'm much better at hacking than cars and I am going to do a file comparison on the CL tune as compared to this one just to see what the difference is. I understand "why" you don't recommend this tune for C&L intakes but on the other Ford forums I certainly will.

BTW: in a couple of the threads you mentioned a MAF 85 95 tune being in the latest update but my Predator didn't have those. Are Predators that are sold from other dealers loaded differently? Does each reseller get their own special tunes installed for them to sell?
