i just got back from a trip pulling my camper and milage with 9r12a sucks, i got 12 MPG on the 60 horse tune, I put it back to stock (stock being a FICM tune, and TCM, ECM roll back from power hungry performance) and I got 14 MPG so I would like to get a different crom to try.

How did the FICM tune and roll back go from Power Hungry Performance. I have been considering the same thing after the last ford calibration. Did you send your FICM to them or did they send you there programmer and do it yourself. What calibration did they roll it back to? Do you think it was worth it. I used to run the 8r14 crom and 8r17 crom with good results but it would have to match your new calibration from power hungry.

jgrappone, The tune and roll back went good i got the remote tune done were they send you out a programmer and you do it yourself, it is definatly worth the money it feels better than it ever did before, they rolled it back to vxcf4x3. Mike L sent me a old crom to try, so i will see how it works and keep you posted.

Thanks, I will put my name on the list. I believe I used to run the 8R14 with that calibration and used to get 23 mpg on the highway in the 100HP tune with the lowest exhaust temps.

The truck stock now feels about like a tow tune used to before i got flashed from ford.

9secondchev, What crom did he send you? My programmer from PHP finally shipped. What kind of mileage are you getting unloaded? Thanks.


Mike L, What do you figure the best crom is for vxcf4x3 as far as mileage is concerned? I assume this is what mine will be also since I got the same service he did. Thanks.

Mike sent me 9r07, I have only been on short trips and all gravel so far so I haven't been able to figure out the milage yet with this crom, as far as unloaded goes I got 19 MPG.

Can someone send me the 7r80

Well with the 9r07 i get 18 MPG.

sent another...BE sure to restore the backup before going backwards with these!

The 8r14 that he just sent me seems to have quite a bit more power than the 9r07, I will keep you posted on the milage.

Thats a FICM tool version, it wont work on a U7165. Unless you have a U7160.
