Hadn't continued to try and update since I didn't think it was really necessary to get the tuner to work.

Everything had been updated prior to having this issue.

I was merely noting that I now could not get it to and asking the question as to if it would not update due to being in recovery mode.

I'll see what I can do to try and update it if that is the recommendation at this point, but it will be tomorrow before I can try.

Ok I plug the Intune into the usb on the computer, the Intune powers up and goes straight to recovery mode.

I press no (don't continue) and then the screen with the application / tune versions comes up.

Then I back arrow to the main screen. The Diablosport program does not automatically start up.

It just sits on the main screen.

you can launch the updater manually from the diablosport cd rom drive.

Ok, but why would I have to update this before it would work? Like I said in the beginning of all this, I simply wanted to change programs. I've called in and had this reset also and still failed the very next time I attempted to perform a tune.

It was up to date when I put the tune in, and nothing has changed since.

It should still be able to reload the original programs without locking up. Clue me in.

if it will not flash the tcm, its not going to get out of recovery.
If you give us a call, we can reset it, and you can avoid flashing the tcm to keep this from happening.

Thanks

I will call in and have it reset again but lets flash back to my second post in this thread for a minute... looks like we've made it full circle here with no different results or suggestions.
Ok, so the tuner loaded the stock program back into the PCM, but when it goes back to reprogram the TCM it reboots itself and goes back to recovery mode. I can never get any further. I've called in and had it reset, and taken time to ensure that everything powered off and give plenty of time between ignition switch position changes and still same results.

I received this tuner as a replacement for one that never worked correctly new out of the box. I did the updates and registered it, and it worked. At this point I was very happy.

Now with the gas prices change for the worse around Spring break, I decided to go back to the 87 octane fuel and tune. This is when I ran across the problem I describe above.

I can't imagine everyone is having problems with their tuners but I tell you I am about worn out. What are my options here?

Well I finally got the courage to call in and have my in tune reset. Reset worked and then updated. Update worked, I double checked it to be sure it was up to date and it was. Plugged it in and saw a lot more options but still won't program the TCM and goes back to recovery mode. I give up. After 6 months I'd just like to send this thing back and get my money back. Unbelievable. What now?

Mike,

Being that I don't have much time to speak to tech support on my schedule, I really need to communicate in some fashion on this issue through posting or by PM, I don't care which. I chose PM this time because I am not getting response to posts as I imagined I would but that option is disabled evidently, so back to the forum.

However, this issue has gone on too long and I really need a resolution. I keep getting directed in circles and getting the same place each time. I hate to be negative, and I'm not entirely but I am very frustrated because I spent the money on this tuner expecting that it would work and it has been nothing but problematic since I got it 6 months ago.

So now I ask, What more can I do here to get this tuner working on my truck? Or will it work at all? And if not, how do I get my money back for the tuner? Or have I just wasted my money on this product? Is there one that will definitely work I can trade in to?

I really could use some help here. I just want the tuner I paid for to work like its supposed to or some resolution in place of it. This shouldn't be so difficult.

if the tool fails on tcm each time, my advice would be to not tune the TCM, click the red X when the tool asks if you want to tune the TCM.

That solution sir is not acceptable. The unit is advertised to program the transmission also, it has worked at least at one point (after the first unit that never worked at all was replaced with no further explanation as to what the problem with it was).

I've done nothing out of the ordinary to cause harm to the unit, i.e. handled the unit carefully, ensured that the cables were plugged in carefully, etc... yet this thing still continues to be problematic. Everything else seems to work, but again the issue arises when the unit goes to PROGRAM the TCM. It reads everything from the TCM, I can make the changes I want, but when it comes to going to program the TCM there is a problem.

The hardware needs to be checked out if the issue is not software.

I believe it is software based, and is being investigated.

Thanks
