Is all this drama worth the added power ?

I recently started using my Predator programmer and it has tons of power. My truck is like a big rocket, but when it's on my truck it idles different, and when I'm coasting it surges too. It doesn't happen alot, but from reading all these other complaints,it has me concerned if I should even be using the programmer anymore. What's a CALID # ? It seems like this programmer has more negative feed back, than positve. Which scares me.

Does anybody out there use there programmer problem free ?

Mine works great. It just doesn't have many of the advertised features. I don't care about most of them but I really wish it would read codes.

Ok, i got a truck in here guys.
One question, the rough idle is the same in all the tunes or is one worse than the other?
Please let me know asap.

I had the tow tune and it was worse and more often. I have the Perfoamance tune now and it still happens. but not near as bad or as often. I haven't tried the extream for any amount of time; my clutch won't hold it.

Mine Idles bad in tow,Economy, and Extreme tunes. There all the same.I mostly drive it in Tow,and Economy because my trainy isn't beefed up enough for the extreme rkl tune. Is this bad for the engine to do this ? When your driving it runs good, Except for a occasional surge, but when ideling it sounds like crap. I'm not concerned about reading codes, I just don't want my engine to get damaged. My truck is a 2006 with the 5.9. I have AFE air box,MBRP Cat back dualls, and CFM intake. When I turn the tuner off my truck idles back to normal.

i am gunna have to say that it has entirely too much timing, and that is not good in the cold mornins and until the engine warms to 175 degrees.Diesels NEED three things fuel,HEAT,oxygen.when an engine iz cold and u are dumping raw fuel into combustion chambers,it ain't good on nothing and is the wrong way to warm up yur engine.I think i would take the truck back to stock until it iz fixed.Or some people with be replacin injector nozzle. my .02

Yes please i need all the calids i can get.
What ambient temps are you guys having where you are when it happens?
Reason i ask, we had about 50degrees here this morning and the truck i have here, 07 4x4, auto, started up with no surges or hiccups, using the tow tune, it is going to be very hard for me to find this issue if can not replicate it.
Have all of you tried the tune alone (without stacking anything) and see if it gets better/worse or no difference.

I don't have anything stacked. And my truck doesn't do it the first start of the day....it was 26 this morning It's usually at lunch or after work. I don't envy you on this one........

Ok so you would say the motor is under normal operating conditions when it occurs?
Does a/c on off make it more pronounced? Or any other accessory turned on or off enhance or reduce it?

I wouldn't say normal operating temp, but not cold either. It has been setting a few hours. It ususlly does it when I start it the second time of the day. But it may skip 1 or 2 days. Once the rpm are above 1000 or so it is smooth....
However if it the idle is rough it will be like that until shut it off and re start it.
I don't have anything on but the radio

I don't have anything stacked on my truck, and because I live in anchorage Alaska we've been having some extreme tempertures, it's been in the negatives for about 2weeks(-5 to -28 below). I'm not sure if this has an effect on it,but it diffenently idels funny. I normally pull it out of the garage and let it idle for about 15 to 20 minutes before I drive any where.Do you think maybe if I warm the truck up stock and then program it, will it help? I got the programmer this winter so I'm not sure if the weather is a factor. I do know that my superchip I got first has never done the rough idle and I ran it all winter last year.I'm not sure what to do !
