Disgusted-ranting
I have to say that I am completely disgusted with Diablosport and their Predator.
Sure, when i first plugged it in and went and played with it, i loved it, even more than the juice. But once the newness wears off and everything settles in you begin to notice a LARGE number of issues with this product.
For instance:
1. There are hardly any features available that are advertised. This is quite annoying, as I purchased mine for specific features that are NOT in the programmer. You might want to take note Diablo, this is called FALSE ADVERTISING, and can mean big losses on your end.
2. The idle with this thing sucks, no matter what setting you put it on. It surges, idles high, sounds almost like a cammed out gasser. ITS CRAP
3. The mileage is NOT increased, no matter the setting. Before I installed this product, I continuously got between 18-20 MPG hand calculated. After installation I could only touch 16 MPG. This is not town driving either, this is filling up at the truck stop, driving 400 miles on the interstate at 75 with cruise, and stopping at my destination and filling up again. I don't see cruise driving as being a "driving habit" AGAIN, CRAP
4. The idle is so crappy on this that in temperatures below 30 degrees, you will load up the engine like no other, even to the point where it will choke and die eventually. Take the predator off, and guess what, perfect Cummins programming, idles at 750 with no load up. WOW, MORE CRAP
5. Surging when decelerating. Whether it be down a large hill or at an idle in a parking lot down a hill, it surges all the way down, take it off, and viola, no more issues.
6. Cruise surging, supposed to be fixed in r16, no such luck.
All of these issues are major pet peeves of mine. I can contest that this programmer somehow got rid of the hard to start problem i have always had with my truck, which the dealer can not fix, tells me it is software.
Keep in mind that all of this information is not only on my truck, but on a friends truck as well, exact same truck. I have the latest release, which isn't very late at all, and it is the only release that has ever been on the programmer.
What kind of company only has a forum (which is hardly ever answered) for customer service anyway? Do you think that all of your customers have internet access, much less the knowledge to use a computer? 63% of the United States population is computer illiterate.
All you guys that are hardcore Diablo guys, good luck with your junk, my standards for my $40,000 truck are much higher than this. I would rank this company just above BullyDog, which is dead last on my list.
If you guys spent the time to perfect these before marketing them and sending them, you would have a much better product. I do enjoy the smooth power and acceleration that the predator gives, but this by far is outweighed by the negative issues that your product has. All I can say is that if someone is looking for one of these, I'll have mine on eBay soon unless there is a fix.

thats awful about the idling,i know my pred is diferent but ive had it for over a year and its been trouble free and she idles like a honda and i get better milage on every setting and the best is on the rkl tunes, the power is fantastic and the price was right.i admit the customer service on the forum is lacking but the forum is still great for getting info and chatting with ohters.

Damn!!! mmm...diesel, ya beat me to it!! I too have experienced the same issues (been fighting these issues for too long), rough idle, engine "lope", timing rattle, poor mileage, down hill and cruise control surges and having to "re-download" programs/patches numerous times to get this thing to work in the first place!! It has gotten to the point that I have returned to stock settings and have tossed the programmer in my recycle bin for the garbageman to collect! Now, I'm concerned as to what damages have been done to my engine!? Somebody has made a pile of money, and are most likely laughing all the way to the bank!!!

RE: Disgusted-ranting
Did you always stack it with the edge? That could explain the excessive rattle, it does injection duration and timing, which would give you way too much timing, and possible too much pressure at idle which would cause an erratic idle.

I too have had problems with mine rough idel, cruise surge, etc... I was also pretty mad when I got my predator and saw that it had none of the option that was advertise
. The power that this thing make is good but I could do without all the problems. If I could find somebody were I live to buy this thing I would go get the Smarty.

I don't have excessive rattle, until i turn on the puck. I hardly ever turned the edge or the puck on. As a matter of fact, it probably spent more than 98% of the time off, as the predator put too much power to my clutch anyway. However, I did try and remove the edge completely, and it made no difference. Stacking with the puck made no difference in the idle at all. If I could afford the smarty, I would go for it. There are no leaky or clogged injectors, no other issues that I or the dealer can find, just the predator.Did you always stack it with the edge? That could explain the excessive rattle, it does injection duration and timing, which would give you way too much timing, and possible too much pressure at idle which would cause an erratic idle.

Does the surge at cruise disappear when removing the Puck?
Ok, could you possibly post your calid and also anyone else who has this issue, you should be able to get your calid by going into options>>troubleshooting>>show calid.
And if someone with an 06-07 that DOES NOT have this issue could post their calid as well would help me out a bunch.

I do NOT have any of these issues. My CALID is 45325751AC.
Mine works great but it is not on the truck anymore due to the fact that it wipes those key counts. Man I wish that could get resolved....
