We have the turbo and S/C option for our car as seen above, But come on Diablo, You have been tuning a vast majority straight engines for 20+ years, As i have stated, I have bought your product twice, I had nothing but a stocker engine in both rides. You guys can create what almost seems like a miracle to straight stock engine, I am proof of that.

I know Turbos have become the thing these days, Imports are putting in 1.6L with turbos to achieve performance with out compromising gasmilage.

Honda can make a 2.0L engine that is bone stock, With no FI, with 201HP

Honda has a long history in racing, The internals in the Honda engines are awesome, We have the internals to run a Turbo or S/C with out any internal mods, It has provin time and time again with honda.

In my expeirences, Turbos can be a huge pain in the rear, Except on the deisel engines, they seem to do very well and turbo failure doesn't happen often.

Our engines are fully prepared for your tune right out of the factory, I don't know this to be a fact, But have heard that the ecu is not very hard to hack.

We need and want ya DiabloSport, It is a better life with ya, then with out ya :}

This is the list of people willing to paid flashpro up front. We have about 18 people there. If we can get definite answer from Diablosport, the "R18 LX EX tuning solution" thread there will be light up like fire!

Naturally Aspirated V8s are one thing. 4's are completely different thing. N/A 4's just can't make decent power with a tune. Certainly not enough to justify a $389 or $599 tuner, unless the stock tune is absolute garbage.

i, also was part of the list to foot out about $700 for flashpro on the civic forum, but that doent seem to be happening in the near future, so I am with all other r18 owners on here.
I wouldn't say that the stock tune is garbage, but it is specifically for economy, I don't know VERY much about mechanics, but im sure there is at least a little room for improvement.
if I even saw a miniscule gain from a tune, but more potential from blot ons I would buy!
I already have intake & full exhaust, and it seems to have hurt the performance more than anything.
its like my car is trying to correct the increased airflow, rather than take advantage of it. if I could simply make my car run more consistent it would be worth buying a tune.
honestly, diablo; its like you have a monopoly right now. nobody else has this... I hope you take advantage of us R18 owners!

Stock is 140hp. With intake, throttle body spacer, downpipe, and catback, that is 20hp more. We should get another 10hp to 15hp with the tuner. So, 170hp to 175hp is good. That is already as good as Civic Si on the track because non-Si weight about 300lbs lighter. This is cheaper than trade-in for civic Si and a lot better mpg too!

R18 can run more than twice faster with turbo kit. It's only cost about $900 online if you know how to look. Everything is already good to go. We just need the tuner to complete everything.

@Mike_Levy, It sounds like you and are a lot alike, I have been modding for 20 years, Mechanic background for 12 years,. 48 yrs old here.

I have always modded domestics, The HP and torque gains in an import as opposed to a domestic, It takes 30 to 40HP on a domestic to really feel the difference, A import only takes 10 to 20 to really feel the gains in performance.

If we were to get say, 10 to 12 HP. 7ft pound of torque from Diablo, That will wake up a import big time, It is just so very different between domestic and import. Probably seems hard to understand, I thought so myself when i first modded an import.

So basically, we don't expect big numbers, 10 to 12 HP, 7ft pound of torque from a Diablo Tune, And we are happy campers. And it will be worth the cost of $389 to $600 , The gains driving will be very significant, doesn't seem so i know, wouldn't be in a domestic , But i can guarantee you Mike, In an import straight engine with no FI, it is a large a gain that will be felt at every shift point.

Oh yeah, no wonder why the car is so responsive now with just only TBS and intake installed.

I hope a full exhaust comes soon for the 9th gen Civic.I had a Vibrant on my 8th.But until a tuning solution comes along I will wait.I did buy a Takeda intake but that will stay in the box till I can tune.I really wonder sometimes what the stock AFM is for the r18.My 8thgen tuned with catback and intake gained 14 HP but I figure 10 cause that was edyno. It was noticeable. That EX 5spd I will always be my car.I still have a 3 different fp tunes that might provide data needed for a tuning device.I will provide them if needed. These tunes were done by vtvp.

:drivingbad:
edyno link below after tune its at the crank not wheels so its lower than advertised amount

For a lot of people, including myself, gains are not the biggest concern for the tune. I am much more in need of some kind of engine management for a F/I application. The ONLY thing keeping us from super/turbocharging is a tuner, and if Diablo could make one, it would definitely sell!!

Its the weight difference that makes less power feel more significant. The domestics (and Europeans) are all around 4000lbs or more, while the Japanese imports are under 3000, so it takes less power to make a difference.
Its still weird to me though that they're happy with 200-250hp and 14 second timeslips, while I'm looking for 650-700hp with matching torque and 11-12 second slips.

Different strokes for different folks I guess...... As long as they don't use those awful fart cannons.

Can't be any simpler we just want our car we drive go faster and respond and accelerate faster.and to do that good we need a tuner
