I did a progressive down grade from 1r13, to 12,111 and soon to be 10. If i find that the programming bug was in 1r11 and not 10 it will give them a starting point. But when you down grade u loose support for newer vehicles until you update the tool. Now the issue of bricking is a possibility, but i will take one for the team. Since the new update dcx 1r13h has bugs.

I also did the same thing....went with a HP Tuner since they can tune the Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep family
the guy tuned my truck with a wideband because of the 268 Comp Cams camshaft....the trans. was also tuned
my Trinity device in now married with my 2005 Chrysler 300C 5,7L Hemi....trans. tuning is avaiable on this car for the NAG1
sarah_ima64 you should go this way

Ds has no plans to bring back the tcm tuning. Looking back at various fourm topics this bug has been known about 2012-2013 and was never fixed. Common excuse thay was used is "we are investigating" with no resolve.

there is no trans tuning for the 05s, the updated crom is just adding supported vehicles. and based on what I have been seeing its bugged as well. gotta love the quality control.

I have been struggling to tune my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi since I had to restore my original backup to take it to the dealer a couple of months ago. I was first trying with 1r13h but was unable create an original backup failing when it went to read the TCM. After going back and forth with support to force calibration update and reset the device, I today successfully created a backup of the PCM/TCM and wrote a PCM/TCM tune to my truck. I used the 87 Oct performance with performance TCM tune. I did notice this time that I had an option to skip the TCM module altogether if I wanted to. My device downloaded the 1r13k DCX tune, even though the site still says 1r13j. The only issue of note is that I am only able to download the original backup of the PCM tune to my computer for safe keeping, but I was not able to download the TCM backup (receive a weird error about No support for controller ID when reading Multi-ECU). I am hoping this doesn't mean I will have trouble restoring the original tune if/when I need to. I hope to take it out for test drive to see if the performance I have been missing is finally back. Thanks to Diablo support for all the help, I only wish the support hours included more West Coast friendly times.

If you go to options, show last tune written you will notice it only wrote to the pcm. The tcm is not shown, cause it was not written.

you should not have a problem restoring your OG back up. I would suggest you use the 1r13 Mega Crom file vs the DCX specific crom. DS has bugs and its bullshit that they cant seem to figure out how to even bring back TCM tuning when it was there WAYYYY before the 1r10 release. I have combed thru the forum and found that they have known about lack of TCM tuning for the 05s and its been the same old ass run around of "we are looking into it", to "we need a vehicle to test". This kind of bullshit response to customers who pay 600 buck plus for a brick is pretty much usless. In your particular case, the trinity unit will only write the PCM and NOT the TCM. So therefore it will only restore what was written. So your only tuning your engine and not your transmission. This bug has been known since 2012 and still no fix. I went with HP tuners and washed my hands of ds. Its funny to see how they sweep complaints aside but still crank out bugged updates. Look up their BBB record, hell even contact the parent company that owns them. You wont get far, I was able to get all my money back for my trinity that I got from 4wheelparts, great service on 4wheelparts behalf. But it was SHIT service from DS.
