U731
I have a U731 for an 06 dodge 5.9 cummins w 35s. After downloading the update with tire size selector I started monitoring my mileage. Stock was 18/22 average, perf/econo was 16/20 and tow was 18.5 in town (havent done a good hwy yet. The tow is doing better than the rest. I was surprised initially. Guess the extra low end gets the big truck moving easily. I actually got 20 mpg once. I was hoping for more consistancy. If diablo would make a MPG program that would be great. Ive heard rumors of 25-27 hwy but think people are going by the onboard mpg computer. Actual Mpg is significantly lower that the computer shows. Diablo should look into this margin of error between the computer and actual, make a fix.
As for economy I think the tow program is closest, with improved throttle response as the first step, the next step would be to lean the motor out at cruise and light pedal. I know the diesel can run at very lean air fuel ratios. We had a chevy 6.5 td at work that would run for 12 hours idleing or up to 25 mph on average and burn only a couple a gallons. Im not making this up!
The tire size selector seems accurate and the on the fly selector is a nice feature.

Yeah, the new update should be ready in the next couple of weeks. So far feedback on the tire size and shift on the fly has been real good.
btoleni....you don't really need to wait till the update is released, the tool can be updated over the internet as soon as the new revision is released.
Thanks

I am relatively new to the diesel arena and the diablosport is my first tuner, so I have no idea what your talking about when your talking about beta, but shift on the fly and tire size sound great to me! Can you spool me up in layman's terms what your all talking about? How does it work, how do I get it, etc.
Thanks, Ed 06 2500 QC 4x4 CTD, Auto, 3.73's, 275/70/18's, Thuren/Carli/Bilstein susp mods, 4 inch duals, K&N Filter, Modified intake, Predator & Puck, Quadzilla Cmdr & boost fooler, more to come.
Looks like we will release this update today or tomorrow. Will keep you posted, if anyone wants the beta at this time, e-mail me and i will send it out.

Yeah, I realize that. I just want to make sure it will actually work. The tire size calibration is the primary reason for me getting a programmer....the extra power will just be a bonus.btoleni....you don't really need to wait till the update is released, the tool can be updated over the internet as soon as the new revision is released.
