You guys do not seem to comprehend the issue of setting dates on the stuff we do here.
Half of the updates for the v6's are done, 2008's are left to do still.
I am pretty sure the Hemi truck tool will come out before the V6 update is completed.

I am not giving a time frame as it will always come and bite us back, from people like yourself all upset over something they have no clue about what is involved in creating.

I see your point, I am not a patient man when it comes to certain things myself.
I can not answer any of the sales related questions as i do not work on that end of our spectrum.
You do seem to miss the point where we have to keep up with a manufacturer that creates updates for their products, then we have to re-engineer that (again) to work with the released product, so it is not as simple as comparing it with another manufacturers business practice as when we intially released it, it did and still does support the calibration id's for those 07-08's.
We have a schedule to follow which does have updates included into the time slots, however due to the complexity to the file structure change in this particular update it is taking much longer(as you have noticed).
If you look at the other products we have, aside from GM TCM support we do provide updates within a reasonable time frame.

Here is a much more simple question. Why do new products take precident over existing products?

The Hemi Truck is going to finally get their tool...then in 6 months, Chrysler is going to change their CalID's. Now, you've got the V6 guys and the Truck guys looking for updates while you guys are working on the 09 LY platform due out next year. You're only digging yourself a deeper hole and you're going to have twice the people TO'd at you. You're never going to get ahead if you don't take care of what you already have. I'd like to see a copy of that schedule with timelines that you talked about. Sounds to me like you need an R&D team and a support/update team. You would then get your new products while still supporting current ones.

well that's an easy one... cuz new products means more/new revenue in the bank account...

they don't make anything off of the updates, since they're free...

hence the 2.5+ year wait for a TCM support update for mine, and many many many others...

and that's not Mike's/Johan's or any of the other worker-bee's faults... that's upper management / ownership / priority issues...

Few questions.

Is there a way to see what calid my car has. I have a 2007.

And what is the current calid that is not compatible?

Want to make sure that it will work fine on my car before I order.

BEFORE you order?? you can try to take it to an Autozone, to see if their scanner will tell ya... but I doubt it...

you'd have to take it to your dealer to have them scan it with their TechII scanner, and have them tell ya...

as far as I know anyway...

or if you have any buddies that have a scanner that can display that type of info...

Chrysler doesn't use Tech 2. They use StarScan or DRB. Only GM uses the Tech2.

aaahhh.... yeah, forgot this is the damn DODGE forum/thread... it's the ol' damn chrysler/ford not the same as GM friggin issue again....

there really needs to be a standard created and used across ALL manufacturers, so that this shit gets easier...

but either way, I still say you'd have to go to a dealer to find out that info...

Thanks for clarifying that Mike...

Each US manufacturer uses a different network protocol too, or at least they did. VPW for GM, PWM for Ford, and ISO for Chrysler and all the Imports. Now though most use the standard CAN (Control Area Network) protocol.

right! as of 2005/2006, they're all supposed to be CAN compliant!! so, a TechII should be able to read ANY of them....
