i3 won't record data log

Post by moparfan707 »

Hi- I bought the i3 to work with a remote tuner to tune my Challenger RT that I added a supercharger to. I have been able to use it to add a first tune to the car, but am having trouble getting it to data log properly to send to the tuner. I first tried it just using the i3, and it wouldn't save the datalog and consistently crashed. Then I tried running the tuner directly to a laptop while datalogging directly into Dataviewer and it won't show that the car is even running. I've been working at this for a few weeks, have hooked the tuner up for updates many times, and have called customer service but have been told to keep trying and be patient. I'm starting to think that I may have just gotten a bad tool, but has anyone else run into this and have suggestions to make it work properly?

when you look at live data with the i3 itself, do you see it moving in real time?
And then when you try to record and save the log, what exactly happens/
if its a loooong log with a bunch of PIDs, it can take a while to save it.
Also make sure the i3 drive is not full of stuff that doesnt belong, taking up space.

When you connect to the PC, and you using DV or DV2?
In DV, when you click the lightning bolt, or the C in the circle it should connect to the car, does it ever indicate it has connected?
