I3 won’t read a backup for my vehicle

Post by Grimm »

I bought a Intune i3 platinum for my 2013 Chrysler 300c 5.7. I followed all the steps and it got me to the point where I need to apply a tune, but whenever I try to upload a 91 octane tune it tries to read a backup then it only says “read failed”. It doesn’t specify ANYTHING after that and I'm now feeling quite stuck and not knowing where to go. Someone help me please lol.

does it read for a while then fail?
any chance the car had been tuned previously, likely by HPtuners?
13/14 have a unique bootloader that has to be replaced, but when they tune them, they never put the stock bootloader back, which somewhat locks us (or anyone else) out.
If it is the case, we can get the pcm in and put a stock bootloader in it if needed.
