I3 8345 Platinum for a 2003 Ram 1500 5.7

Hey all,

Wanting to swap from my superchips tuner, but just want to confirm that this I3 8345 platinum will work on the truck, (2003 Ram 1500 5.7) and is there a 93 octane tune for this vehicle? Does it do anything to the TCM? As the superchips doesn't really..

yes, 8345 will work.
03 ram is rather limited, there is no speed limit control, no throttle control, and no trans control unfortunately.
It will have a 93 octane (Diablo) Tune.

Thank you, i figured it may not do the trans. Speed limit isn't an issue as i doubt it would make it to the limit anyway with the tyres it has.

shame it cant do the throttle though because none of the pedal commander type boxes work on the 03 despite it being fly by wire.

Thats good about the 93 octane though as the superchips only does 91.

yeah the 03 ram was something of a one-off by Dodge. Used a separate controller for the throttle, which controls speed limit as well, and none of that carried over to 2004.

Can you confirm ill still be able to set wheel size with the tuner? the superchips did.

the truck has a cai, msd blaster ignition coils and a cat back so not much but will any of that be taken into account by the tune?

As i recall it does not do tire size. If you want to use the SC to set tire size, we can reset it for you assuming its a current F5 device.

oh.. so if i overwrite the sc tune with your one, it will set it back to standard tyre size?

surely your one can do tyres though i mean its one of the main things no?

no, i3 doe snot do tire size on 03.

set it with the f5 and we can reset it for you, then you're speedo will be good and you can tune with the i3.

ok to confirm, the tyre size is already correct and the speedo is accurate.

will uploading your 93 tune provide any tangible benefit over their 91 tunes (they dont do a 93) and will the speedo still be correct after?
