New Updated tool

Post by Excursionist »

Where can we get a little more info on adjustable parameters of the new tool. for example what are the shift points and factory line pressures, and what is loaded currently in the Diablo tunes? Is there a cheat sheet manual for customizing? What is keep Alive memory for the power train? What are the codes I'm throwing and are they fixable, p-0602, 1211,1690,1000. they dont reset either. Brian?

The 1000 and the 0602 will go away. The 1211 and 1690 are the injection pump. Basically the pressure requested is not being met in the timeframe it's requesting...

honestly it's because of the power, The fuel system on the 7.3L is less than to be desired for most high HP apps... Not that there's a problem with the amount of power it's making you'll just have some of these issues.

What are the Ford factory settings for shift rpm and line pressures. What are the parameters currently in the Diablo tunes?

What other adjustable parameters are there in this new tuner for my SUV that could use some tinkering?

My EDGE has an option to defuel on WOT shifts. Is this a good idea to have this set as a default? Is line pressure too great and unsafe for the tranny during WOT shifts? What levels would we see and are these adjustable?

Could this be because fuel has been dialed down too much in the tune? Dont see any smoke anymore. I may have more intake air than what is written in base tune files?

DeFueling on shifts shouldn't be needed especially on your tranny. Shouldn't be because it's been dialed down too much... I didn't dial it down at all. How much boost are you running?

I spool up to 25 psi real quick especially with the new 110 hp file. I have an alert set so when I hit 21 I can back down. Also have a backdown set for egt's and rpm's. I dont really push it or havent yet to see what it ends up WOT until shift. Wasnt sure I could do this. I bet I'd be 30 or so. What levels can the 7.3 reach safely and still stay bolted together?

Oh and what is code P0605 dont think I mentioned that before.
What are the factory shift levels and what are you setting for my rig in the 9r03 I have on my tool. would like these for a reference point so I can maybe adjust a little. PM me if you need to or you have my email as well. Brian thanks for everything.

With the new 9r04 my boost is around 28lbs..with one of the 110Hp custom tunes that Brian sent me in the past I could peg 36 to 38lbs all day.I have heard that over 30 lbs on a stock turbo, they wont live long.I am kinda glad my boost has dropped. The head gaskets should be fine up to about 40lbs,However the actual cylinder pressure is what will cause issues.I put a boost fooler on mine and I dont get the over-boost code anymore.

I have noticed I can actually add more if I dial up the Edge on top of the Diablo but havent for fear of lack of stacking knowledge.

Brian is the 9r04 any different thatn the 9r03 or was it just an update to support a cal Id that was missed in that release?

I am not sure, but I have been told that you cant stack a programmer.I heard that one will cancel the other out..dunno,..As for the boost code.anything over about 23lbs will throw one ,most of the time.I can throw a boost code if I take my boost fooler off and put it back to Factory settings. The funniest thing I have ever seen..23lbs stock. All the guys on the Powerstroke Org. say I am full of S@@t about the 23lbs..until I called out one of the super mods and didnt get a response back.lmao.

You are not seeing ANY smoke ,even with the 110Hp tune..Have you changed your fuel filter lately..I can roll some coal in that tune.

I called and asked Phil ,I think it was,and he told me there was no difference other than the cal id issue.I had wondered that myself.
